At the reception, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress Tran Dong expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the Hanoi People's Council and hoped that the two sides would have a bilateral cooperative relationship.
Mr. Tran Dong gave general information about Fujian province and the activities of the Fujian National People's Congress, emphasizing the monitoring activities for the implementation of socio-economic development tasks of the province. At the same time, he exchanged the strengths of the province, which could be experiences for other localities such as ecological conservation, water resources, environment, etc.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Pham Qui Tien affirmed that Vietnam and China are two close neighbors, sharing many similarities in political regimes, development paths, cultural and social characteristics. The two Parties, two countries and two peoples have given each other valuable support and assistance in the past struggle for national independence and in the present-day construction of socialism.
The agreement between the two sides to build the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future is of strategic significance, bringing the bilateral relationship into a new phase with political trust, deeper substantive cooperation, and a more solid social foundation. On that basis, the cooperative relationship between localities of the two countries continues to have favorable and effective conditions for development.
Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Pham Qui Tien introduced Hanoi and the People's Council to the Fujian Provincial People's Congress Delegation. Accordingly, the scale of Hanoi's GRDP in 2023 is estimated at 54.2 billion USD; international tourists to the capital Hanoi reached more than 4 million, of which visitors from China accounted for about 8% of the total number of international visitors.
Recently, in order to have a long-term and sustainable strategic development, Hanoi has reported to the Central Government and the National Assembly; the National Assembly has just passed the Law on the Capital (amended) with policies and mechanisms that are superior to those of other localities. In addition, Hanoi also coordinated with ministries and branches to submit to the Government and the National Assembly for comments on the Hanoi Capital Planning and the General Adjusted Planning of the Capital. These documents are a very good legal basis to help Hanoi develop quickly and sustainably in the coming time.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council, in recent years, the City People's Council has always fulfilled its responsibilities with many important marks, recognized by voters and people of the capital, highly appreciated by the National Assembly Standing Committee, and is a "bright spot" and "model" in the activities of elected agencies in localities nationwide.
Affirming that Hanoi always attaches importance to and supports comprehensive and substantive cooperation between Hanoi and Chinese localities, including Fujian province - a province with an economy in the top 10 and rich in culture in China, the Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council believes that increasing contact between delegations of the two sides will open up favorable opportunities to study and implement specific and practical cooperation activities in the future.
The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council proposed a number of ideas to continue promoting and deepening the friendly and cooperative relations between Hanoi and Fujian province, including: promoting exchanges and delegations at all levels between the two cities in various forms, enhancing the exchange of experiences in socio-economic development; further strengthening cooperation in various fields, exploiting the potential and strengths of each side; enhancing people-to-people exchanges between the two localities, contributing to creating a sustainable social foundation for the development of bilateral relations...
The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council emphasized that Hanoi welcomes and is ready to create favorable conditions for Chinese enterprises and corporations with strong capital and technology to come to Vietnam to make new investments and expand business - especially in new areas such as digital transformation, green growth, renewable energy, circular economy, and environmental protection.
Highly appreciating the sharing of Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Council, Vice Chairman of Fujian Provincial People's Council Standing Committee Tran Dong expressed his high agreement with the proposals on future cooperation directions, the cooperative relationship between Fujian province and localities of Vietnam, including Hanoi, will have many new developments in the coming time.
