Hanoi conducts surprise inspections of eateries near schools

The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a document on the Conclusion of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha at the meeting to listen to the summary report on the implementation results of Plan No. 210/KH UBND dated July 11, 2024 of the City People's Committee on the topic "Strengthening food safety control in and around school gates in Hanoi" and related contents to serve the meeting of the City's Food Safety Steering Committee.

Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the Department of Health to review relevant legal regulations and issue documents guiding localities and educational institutions on environmental hygiene procedures, disease prevention measures and food safety control in schools. At the same time, consider the responsibility of heads of educational institutions in cases where they do not strictly implement the City's instructions and relevant legal regulations on food safety in schools.

Vice Chairman Vu Thu Ha assigned the Department of Health to advise the City's Food Safety Steering Committee to conduct surprise inspections of food safety control work in and around school gates.

Assign the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to focus on directing, strengthening inspection and control of the implementation of internal procedures to ensure food safety in schools. In addition, it will step up inspection, supervision and traceability of food origin in collective kitchens, food service establishments and street food around schools; strictly handle cases of violations of food safety regulations.
