
In March, 7 CPI groups increased compared to February. Of which, the housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group increased by 0.77%, affecting the overall CPI increase by 0.16% (of which house rental prices increased by 2.25%, other housing maintenance materials increased by 2.49%). The culture, entertainment and tourism group increased by 0.62%, affecting the overall CPI increase by 0.03%.
The garment, hat, and footwear group increased by 0.16%, contributing to a 0.01% increase in CPI. The food and catering services group increased by 0.04%, contributing to a 0.01% increase in overall CPI (of which food prices increased by 0.05% and eating out increased by 0.03%).
The remaining groups increased slightly, without much impact on the overall CPI. Specifically, the group of medicines and medical services increased by 0.04%; the group of education increased by 0.02%; and the group of other goods and services increased by 0.16%.
In March, there were also 4 groups of goods whose CPI decreased compared to the previous month, including: Transportation group decreased by 1.3% (affecting the overall CPI by 0.13%) due to the average monthly decrease in gasoline price by 3.8%; diesel price decreased by 4.67%; post and telecommunications group decreased by 0.09%; beverage and tobacco group decreased by 0.06%; household equipment and appliances group decreased by 0.03%.
Compared to the previous month, the gold price index in March 2025 increased by 5.11% and the US dollar price index increased by 0.54%.
