Wrapping Banh Tet and Banh Chung - "Returning to the roots"

The contest was organized by the Can Tho City Women's Union on the occasion of the Hung King's death anniversary in the year of At Ty.

There are 12 teams participating in the competition. Each team has 5 members, including a maximum of 2 male members. The participating units prepare all necessary tools, pots, stoves, firewood, raw materials needed to make cakes, materials, and items to decorate the cake tray.

In particular, the Women's Union of the City Military Command and the districts of O Mon, Thoi Lai, Cai Rang, Phong Dien will compete in wrapping, cooking and displaying banh tet.

The Women's Union of the City Police and the districts: Binh Thuy, Ninh Kieu, Co Do, Vinh Thanh, Thot Not, and the Ninh Kieu District Small Traders Team will participate in the contest of wrapping, cooking and displaying Chung cakes.

Each team’s finished product is 8 pairs of banh tet or 8 pairs of banh chung, according to the specifications. The teams will present the meaning of the cake tray, in line with the general theme of the contest, “Returning to the origin”.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lam awarded scholarships to students.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the contest awarded 13 scholarships to students with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well in Binh Thuy district. Each scholarship is worth 500,000 VND. This is a spiritual gift, adding motivation for the students to firmly step on the path of learning.
