Syngenta introduces weed control products in rice fields

The event was attended by leading scientists in the agricultural sector from the Vietnam Rice Industry Association, the Mekong Delta Rice Research Institute, the Southern Plant Protection Center, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, the Departments of Cultivation and Plant Protection of provinces in the Mekong Delta, along with representatives of agricultural supply stores and farmers in the Mekong Delta and Southeast regions.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Thanh Vu, General Director of Syngenta Vietnam Co., Ltd. emphasized that Baloric® 310EC not only helps farmers manage weeds more easily, reduces herbicide spraying costs, and is safer for humans and the environment, the product also demonstrates Syngenta's strong commitment to promoting investment activities and developing long-term, safe solutions to improve crop productivity and quality in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner.

Presenting the Baloric® 310EC product, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Technical Director of Syngenta, said that Syngenta has spent more than 10 years researching with 300 field experiments. Syngenta scientists have cooperated with research institutes and functional agencies to conduct trials and evaluate the effectiveness of advanced dual technology in controlling early post-emergence weeds in rice fields. With outstanding weed management results, Syngenta has launched the early post-emergence herbicide Baloric® 310EC. The product possesses an advanced dual-action mechanism that effectively kills grass and weed seedlings at the same time in just one spray, especially on 3 groups of difficult-to-control weeds such as sedge, cogon and phoenix tail with a weed killing efficiency of over 98% and is very safe for rice plants. The dual action mechanism is demonstrated through 2 effects: the first effect is that the drug directly attacks the grass leaves, causing the grass to grow abnormally and then die; the second effect is that the drug attacks the grass seed germ, preventing the development of the grass seed, and killing the grass seed from the germ stage. Baloric® 310EC is highly effective in many different soil, cultivation and weather conditions, including acid sulfate soil. In particular, the product is also flexible in bringing water into the field after spraying (4 days after spraying compared to 2 days of other popular drugs today), helping farmers manage grass much more effectively and flexibly... With outstanding herbicide effectiveness with only 1 spray, Baloric® 310EC helps farmers reduce the number of sprays (1 time compared to the current average of 3 times), reduce the amount of drug released into the environment, reduce fertilizer, increase profits, and is safer for humans and the environment.

Especially now that weeds have been and are resistant to some active ingredients, causing farmers to have to deal with them very laboriously, costly, even harmful to health and affecting the environment. Here, experts also provided more information about the product with advantages in weed control and its impact on user health and the environment.
