Introducing the quintessence of Binh Dinh cuisine

As an activity within the framework of the Amazing Binh Dinh Fest Week 2024, the 1st Binh Dinh Food Culture Festival - 2024 will introduce 77 typical specialties from 11 districts, towns and cities, which are elaborately prepared, presented in an eye-catching and attractive manner. The festival is held on an expanded provincial scale, for 3 days (from March 22 to 24), in Thi Nai Bay area, Quy Nhon City (Dong Da Street, from Phan Dinh Phung Street to Tran Hoan Street). Within the framework of the festival, there will be a buffet party with the theme "77 unique dishes of Binh Dinh" on March 22; the opening ceremony will take place on March 23; more than 50 food stalls, OCOP stalls of the province, some neighboring provinces, stalls of international units and dining areas for tourists and residents. In addition, there will be performances by Michelin chefs and other chefs from Binh Dinh province and neighboring provinces. One of the highlights of the Festival is the buffet party, introducing 77 typical delicious dishes of Binh Dinh. According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Sam, Chairman of the Provincial Culinary Culture Association, these are dishes imbued with traditional culinary culture, the unique flavors of each district, town and city. Not only directly experiencing the delicious dishes, delegates and visitors will also be shared by volunteers with a lot of information related to the origin, origin, preparation method and nutritional value of the dishes.

“The festival’s activities are live-streamed on the province’s digital platform and social networks. Binh Dinh’s culinary culture is unique in that it represents both aspects: Cuisine (drinks) and food (food). Coming to the Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival, visitors will not only enjoy many delicious dishes but also enjoy some unique drinks, including Bau Da wine, one of the four specialties honored and certified by the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association. Hopefully, from this Festival, more people will love Binh Dinh’s specialties, contributing to spreading the quintessence of Binh Dinh’s culinary culture even more strongly,” said Mr. Nguyen Hoang Sam. The area for displaying, introducing, and processing cuisine and OCOP products of Binh Dinh and other localities and units has 39 culinary booths of 12 units outside the province (Hue, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Nghe An, Long An, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City, Soc Trang, Lam Dong, Da Nang, Southern Cuisine and Southeast Cuisine), 1 international unit (Yongsan District, Korea), 9 People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in the province, 13 units under the Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Association and 4 restaurants and hotels in the province... Within the framework of the festival, there are performances by Michelin chef, Central culinary expert Nguyen Ngoc Duy and chef Ho Thi Thu Hien from the Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Association. In addition, many units in the province have registered to perform dishes such as: Jellyfish salad + Binh Dinh pork roll, grilled chicken in bamboo tubes, Tay Son rice paper rolls, cocktail mixing (ocean tuna sashimi, dishes made from Song Than Thai An vermicelli, bamboo shoots stir-fried with bacon, Tay Son beef roll, Mang Linh artichoke vermicelli, instructions on making Korean KimBap dishes... "The festival creates opportunities for exchange and learning between restaurant, hotel and food service businesses in the province, thereby improving the quality of service and culinary culture business activities in the province's tourism industry. In addition, the festival attracts the participation of many culinary establishments outside the province, creating conditions for exchange, learning experiences, understanding more about the characteristics, strengths, similarities and differences in culinary tourism between provinces and cities in the country. From there, further affirming the strengths of Binh Dinh cuisine, shaping the brand and image of Binh Dinh delicacies in the "We want to satisfy domestic and foreign tourists, aiming to serve the community and attract tourists better in the coming time," said Mr. Tran Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Tourism.

Among the 4 typical delicacies of Binh Dinh, which have been honored and awarded certificates by the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA) (including Bau Da wine, Nem Cho Huyen, Banh It La Gai, Cha Ram Tom Dat), the 2 delicacies Nem Cho Huyen and Banh It La Gai are specialties of Tuy Phuoc district; therefore, the district is very excited about the Festival. Chairman of Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee Huynh Nam said: "The district has registered a culinary booth to introduce the specialty Nem Cho Huyen and the OCOP booth of Loc Tin Organic Agricultural Cooperative (Quang Tin village, Phuoc Loc commune)". The culinary performances, performed by famous chefs at home and abroad, promise to satisfy diners, tourists and lovers of Binh Dinh cuisine, contributing to the glory of the province's culinary culture. Culinary artist Nguyen Ngoc Duy, Vice President of the Provincial Culinary Culture Association, excitedly shared: “I will perform 2 acts: Making jumping shrimp pancakes and processing and cooking ocean tuna vermicelli. I hope to satisfy everyone.”
