In the first quarter, agricultural, forestry and fishery production activities remained stable. The growth rate of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector is estimated at 3.43%; of which: agriculture (cultivation and livestock) and related services 4.08%; forestry and related services 3.25%; exploitation and aquaculture 2.49%. The rate of rural population using clean water reached 100%; of which: the rate of clean water use was 38.8%. The rate of urban solid waste collection reached nearly 95%; The rate of rural solid waste collection reached more than 78.5%.
The whole province has sown 51% of the winter-spring rice crop plan, and converted crops to 35% of the annual plan. The work of herding and developing livestock and poultry, especially the three main livestock types: beef cattle, pigs and poultry (chickens), continues to be promoted, along with disease prevention measures. Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh suggested that in the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment should continue to focus on directing the comprehensive development of agricultural, forestry and fishery production; managing natural resources and the environment to ensure the completion and surpassing of socio-economic targets according to the set plan. In particular, continuing to promote the conversion of crop structure; focusing on herd restoration associated with the development of large-scale farm models, applying high technology, ensuring biosafety and effective disease control; speeding up the construction progress of agricultural and food processing factories... Strengthening exploitation activities associated with the protection and development of aquatic resources; developing projects applying high technology in aquaculture; effectively implementing policies to support fishermen in offshore fishing and overcoming the warnings of the European Commission (EC) on combating illegal fishing (IUU). Concluding the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Agriculture and Environment sector, which, after the merger and consolidation, since March 1, 2025, has quickly stabilized the organizational structure, assigned specific tasks, and at the same time well implemented the assigned tasks.
Regarding the upcoming tasks, in the context of continuing to implement the second phase of the revolution to arrange and streamline the organizational apparatus and arrange administrative units at the provincial and communal levels, Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung requested the Department's Board of Directors to thoroughly disseminate to all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers the major policies of the Party and State, do a good job of ideological work, and be ready to undertake all assigned tasks.
Continue to improve the internal organization according to the approved project, arrange enough capable and dedicated staff to undertake the tasks. "It is necessary to determine that in this revolution, there is no place for staff to work half-heartedly, be irresponsible, push and dodge. Comrade Ho Quoc Dung requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently build and complete the land management database for the whole province. Develop and complete a specific project to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
The Provincial Party Secretary also requested the sector to coordinate with localities to urge and complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by May 31; focus on implementing national target programs, including poverty reduction support work...
