Mr. Vo Tuong Kha, Party Secretary and Director of Vietnam Sports Hospital, was removed from the position of member of the hospital's Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
The information was announced by the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies in a statement issued on June 12. This agency also reprimanded the Party Committee of the Vietnam Sports Hospital (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) for the 2020-2025 term.
The announcement stated that the decision to discipline Mr. Kha was "based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, cause of the violation, specific circumstances, aggravating and mitigating circumstances, awareness, attitude of self-criticism and correction and improvement". However, the specific reason for Mr. Kha's disciplinary action was not mentioned.
After being dismissed from his position in the Party, the agencies will carry out administrative disciplinary procedures against Mr. Kha.

Mr. Vo Tuong Kha, 54 years old, is from Quang Nam. He graduated as a resident physician at the Central Acupuncture Hospital and studied information technology at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He has been the Deputy Director of Vietnam Sports Hospital since mid-2013, and has been the Director until now three years later.
Vietnam Sports Hospital was formerly the Biomedical Department of the Institute of Sports Science, established in 1979. In 1998, the Sports Medicine Center was established on the basis of the Biomedical Department to select, test, and evaluate athletes' training level; examine and treat diseases and injuries caused by sports training; provide nutritional advice and guidance to athletes; participate in medical services at domestic and international sports competitions.
In 2006, Vietnam Sports Hospital was established, now consisting of 5 rooms, 16 departments, with the function of examining, treating injuries, and rehabilitating athletes, coaches, referees, officials, civil servants, sports officials and people.
