World oil prices today
World oil prices increased across the board in today's trading session, August 28 (Vietnam time). WTI crude oil was at $75.66/barrel, up $0.13/barrel, or 0.17%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at $75.53/barrel and opened today's session at $75.73/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $78.82 a barrel, up $0.16 a barrel, or 0.20 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $78.66 a barrel and opened today at $78.92 a barrel.
Thus, after a sharp drop yesterday, gasoline prices today have increased again.
Oil prices rose slightly on the back of US crude inventories data from the American Petroleum Institute. Crude inventories fell by 3.4 million barrels in the week ending August 23, gasoline inventories fell by 1.86 million barrels and distillate inventories also fell by 1.4 million barrels, analysts said.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On August 28, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 22. Accordingly, RON 95-III gasoline decreased by VND540/liter; E5 and RON 92 gasoline decreased by VND460/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND460/liter; kerosene decreased by VND430/liter; and fuel oil decreased by VND490/kg.
Gasoline discount today
Discount prices of petroleum products today, August 28, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on August 28: Oil discount 1,450 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,150 VND/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on August 28 as follows: Oil discount: 1,400 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,250 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on August 28: RON 95 - III discount: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,000 VND/liter; oil: 1,600 VND/liter at Mipec warehouse
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices may decrease slightly by about 100 VND/liter or remain unchanged.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 16 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 17 times.
