Last week, the world gold price increased by 2.2%, marking the 5th consecutive week of increase. The driving force for the gold price increase is the demand to buy gold to hedge against geopolitical risks and the fact that central banks maintain net purchases of this precious metal for national reserves.
Colin Cieszynski, market strategist at SIA Wealth Management, said the risks remain high and could trigger further price increases in the market. Daniel Pavilonis, senior commodities broker at RJO Futures, also said that geopolitical conflicts will continue to push gold prices higher even if there is no immediate escalation.
Gainesville Coins market analyst Everett Millman expects the gold market to remain volatile this week. He predicts that gold will have a wider range next week.
