Previously, the price of durian at the garden on May 20: Ri6 durian was at 70,000 - 90,000 VND/kg; Thai durian was at 95,000 - 110,000 VND/kg; Musangking durian remained at 100,000 - 180,000 VND/kg.

In the Southwestern region: The beautiful Ri6 durian variety is priced at 85,000 - 88,000 VND/kg and the Ri6 durian variety is priced at 70,000 - 88,000 VND/kg; the beautiful Thai durian is priced at 113,000 - 115,000 VND/kg; the Thai durian variety is priced at 93,000 - 95,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands: The price of beautiful Ri6 durian is 80,000 - 82,000 VND/kg and Ri6 durian in bucket is at the price that traders buy at 65,000 - 82,000 VND/kg; beautiful Thai durian is at 100,000 - 101,000 VND/kg; meanwhile, Thai durian in bucket is at 85,000 - 90,000 VND/kg.

Durian, known as the “King of Fruits,” has entered its peak harvest season and is being introduced to the Chinese market in increasing quantities. Due to the increasing supply and the gradually “cooling down” price, durian is increasingly popular with Chinese consumers.

According to Chinese statistics, in the first quarter of 2024, China imported 48,000 tons of durian through the Huu Nghi Quan border gate, worth 1.85 billion yuan (about 2.56 million USD).

Among them, the import volume of Vietnamese durian increased sharply, reaching 35,000 tons, worth 1.28 billion yuan (about 1.77 million USD).
