DNVN - On November 2, 2024, the price of live pigs in the Northern and Southern markets had opposite adjustments, fluctuating from 58,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in the North
In the northern provinces, the price of live pigs recorded an increase of VND1,000/kg, including Bac Giang, Hanoi, Hai Duong and Hung Yen.
Currently, the purchase price of live pigs in these areas ranges from 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg. Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Thai Binh continue to hold the highest price, reaching 64,000 VND/kg, reflecting the high demand in the region.
Pig price in Central Highlands
The Central Highlands region still maintains stable prices, fluctuating between 58,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak has the lowest price in the region, only 58,000 VND/kg. In contrast, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh recorded the highest price of 61,000 VND/kg. The stable situation here shows that demand has not fluctuated much, although prices remain quite high in some provinces.
Pig price in the South
In the South, the price of live pigs decreased by VND1,000/kg in Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, bringing the purchase price in these places down to VND60,000/kg, equivalent to An Giang and Bac Lieu.
Other provinces in the region maintained stable prices from 61,000 - 62,000 VND/kg, with Ben Tre having the lowest price of 59,000 VND/kg. The price decrease in many localities shows that supply may be exceeding demand, especially when supply from farms increases.
In general, the live hog market today recorded a clear difference between regions, with purchase prices ranging from 58,000 - 64,000 VND/kg. This fluctuation reflects the market situation depending on supply and demand in each locality.
On the morning of November 1, a delegation from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Phuoc province worked with the People's Committee of Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province, on animal disease prevention and control and preventing the illegal transportation and trade of pigs across the border, according to Binh Phuoc Newspaper.
