Coffee prices remain flat

At the London exchange, at 5:00 a.m. on March 30, 2025, Robusta coffee prices remained stable and unchanged from the previous session, ranging from 5,202 to 5,409 USD/ton. Specifically, the May 2025 futures price reached 5,337 USD/ton, the July 2025 futures price recorded 5,354 USD/ton, the September 2025 futures price was 5,314 USD/ton, while the November 2025 futures price reached 5,231 USD/ton.

Similar developments also took place on the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee on the morning of March 30 continued to remain stable compared to the previous increase, fluctuating between 362.25 - 384.80 cents/lb. Of which, the contract for delivery in May 2025 reached 379.95 cents/lb, July 2025 was 376.40 cents/lb, September 2025 was 371.60 cents/lb, and December 2025 recorded 364.50 cents/lb.

At the end of the trading session, the price of Arabica coffee from Brazil fluctuated little, remaining stable between delivery terms, fluctuating between 453.75 - 485.40 USD/ton. Specifically, the May 2025 term was recorded at 485.50 USD/ton, the July 2025 term reached 473.50 USD/ton, the September 2025 term was at 466.50 USD/ton, and the December 2025 term was priced at 455.05 USD/ton.

Updated domestic coffee prices at 5:00 a.m. on March 31, 2025, the coffee market in the Central Highlands remained high compared to the previous session. Currently, the average purchase price is still at 132,200 VND/kg.

Specifically, coffee prices in Dak Lak are currently at 132,300 VND/kg, in Lam Dong at 131,200 VND/kg, in Gia Lai at 132,200 VND/kg and in Dak Nong at 132,300 VND/kg.

After four consecutive sessions, the domestic and international coffee markets have remained largely unchanged, with trading ranging from VND131,300 to VND132,300 per kilogram. The move reflects the "probing" sentiment of market participants.

According to analysis from experts, the world coffee market is being affected by many factors, including the increase in global supply. Of which, Vietnam's coffee output is forecast to increase by 7.9%, while Brazil is expected to increase by 13.6% compared to the 2024-2025 crop year.

In addition, the weakening of the US dollar is also a supporting factor helping Arabica coffee prices recover slightly. Although domestic coffee prices remain high, purchasing activities are difficult because people tend to hold on to their goods waiting for prices to increase. This makes the market unstable and difficult to predict price trends in the coming time.

According to experts, although domestic coffee prices are still high, farmers’ hoarding behavior has hindered purchasing transactions. This creates instability in the market and makes price prediction more difficult. Factors such as weather conditions, US tariff policies and the global economic situation may continue to affect price fluctuations in the coming time.

In addition, many coffee importers are stepping up early purchases to ensure supply before the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) comes into effect at the end of 2025. This move contributes to increasing Arabica coffee prices, while also leading to an increase in Robusta prices.

Pepper prices remain stable

Updated at 5:00 a.m. on March 31, 2025, the domestic pepper market continued to maintain a high level and had no fluctuations compared to the previous trading session. Currently, the average purchase price in key areas remains at 159,400 VND/kg.

Specifically, in Gia Lai, pepper prices remain stable after the previous increase, currently being purchased at 159,000 VND/kg. Similarly, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper prices are also recorded at 159,000 VND/kg.

In Binh Phuoc, pepper prices remain unchanged, currently at 159,000 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak, pepper prices also continued to remain stable after the previous increase, currently reaching 160,000 VND/kg.

In Dak Nong, pepper prices remain high, currently being purchased at 160,000 VND/kg.

Data from the International Pepper Community (IPC) updated at 5:00 a.m. on March 31, 2025 showed that the global pepper market continued to remain stable and had no significant fluctuations compared to the previous session.

Currently, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at $7,239/ton, while the price of Muntok white pepper was traded at $10,066/ton.

In Malaysia, the pepper market remained stable, with ASTA black pepper prices at USD 9,900/ton and ASTA white pepper at USD 12,400/ton.

In Brazil, pepper prices also remained stable after the previous increase, currently reaching 7,000 USD/ton.

Meanwhile, Vietnam's pepper export prices continue to remain high. Specifically, the price of 500 g/l black pepper reached 7,100 USD/ton, 550 g/l was traded at 7,300 USD/ton, and white pepper is currently at 10,100 USD/ton.

Domestic pepper market situation

At the end of last week, domestic pepper prices were traded in the range of 159,000 - 160,000 VND/kg. Except for pepper prices in Dak Nong, which decreased by 500 VND/kg compared to last week, other regions remained unchanged.

Although pepper prices fell sharply at times during the week, they recovered at the end of the week, keeping the average price unchanged from last week.

In pepper growing areas, farmers tend to hold onto their goods longer thanks to the stable financial situation from last year, expecting prices to continue to rise. On the contrary, high financial costs have caused buyers to limit their purchases, causing the market to stagnate.
