Coffee prices at the three main coffee futures exchanges ICE Futures Europe, ICE Futures US and B3 Brazil are continuously updated by Y5Cafe during the trading hours of the exchange, updated as follows:

At the end of the trading session, the price of Robusta coffee on the London floor updated at 4:30 a.m. on January 8, 2025 increased sharply compared to the previous session from 19 - 35 USD/ton, fluctuating at 4749 - 5019 USD/ton. Specifically, the delivery period for March 2025 is 5019 USD/ton (up 35 USD/ton); the delivery period for May 2025 is 4930 USD/ton (up 30 USD/ton); the delivery period for July 2025 is 4839 USD/ton (up 23 USD/ton) and the delivery period for September 2025 is 4749 USD/ton (up 19 USD/ton).

Similarly, the price of Arabica coffee on the New York floor on the morning of January 8, 2025, also increased slightly from 1.80 - 2.05 cents/lb, ranging from 306.10 - 320.50 cents/lb. Specifically, the delivery period for March 2025 is 320.50 cents/lb (up 1.90 cents/lb); the delivery period for May 2025 is 317.30 cents/lb (up 1.80 cents/lb); the delivery period for July 2025 is 312.40 cents/lb (up 2 cents/lb) and the delivery period for September 2025 is 306.10 cents/lb (up 2.05 cents/lb).

At the end of the trading session, the price of Brazilian Arabica coffee on the morning of January 8, 2025 was updated as follows: Compared to the previous trading session, there was an increase of 0.40 - 4.95 USD/ton, ranging from 377.80 - 402.25 USD/ton. Specifically, the delivery period for March 2025 is 402.25 USD/ton (up 0.40 USD/ton); the delivery period for May 2025 is 390.00 USD/ton (up 4.95 USD/ton); the delivery period for July 2025 is 388.80 USD/ton (up 2.65 USD/ton); the delivery period for September 2025 is 377.80 USD/ton (up 3.25 USD/ton).
Robusta coffee traded on the ICE Futures Europe (London exchange) opens at 16:00 and closes at 00:30 (next day) Vietnam time. Arabica coffee traded on the ICE Futures US (New York exchange) opens at 16:15 and closes at 01:30 (next day) Vietnam time. For Arabica coffee traded on the B3 Brazil exchange, it will open from 19:00 – 02:35 (next day) Vietnam time.

Domestic coffee prices rise again
According to information from Giacaphe.com, at 4:30 a.m. today, January 8, 2025, domestic coffee prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday, remaining at an average of 120,900 VND/kg, an increase of +500 VND/kg.
The highest coffee purchase price in key regions of the Central Highlands is still recorded at 121,000 VND/kg. Specifically, today's coffee price in Dak Lak is 121,000 VND/kg, up +500 VND/kg; coffee price in Lam Dong is 120,300 VND/kg, up +300 VND/kg; coffee price in Gia Lai is 120,800 VND/kg, up +500 VND/kg and coffee price in Dak Nong today is 121,000 VND/kg, up +500 VND/kg.
The domestic coffee prices that Giacaphe.com lists every day are calculated based on the prices of two world coffee exchanges combined with continuous surveys from businesses and purchasing agents in key coffee growing areas across the country.

Vietnam’s 2024-2025 coffee crop has almost completed its harvest period, with domestic coffee prices reaching record highs, continuously fluctuating around VND120,000/kg – VND121,000/kg. This price increase has created many fluctuations in the market, especially in the early days of 2025.
According to statistics, Vietnam's coffee export output has decreased sharply compared to the same period last year. A notable point is that the export market share of foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) in this period has decreased significantly. Specifically, in previous crop years, FDI enterprises usually accounted for about 30% of the market share of green coffee, but in the fourth quarter of 2024, this figure was only about 20%.
The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) has stated that this is a new factor in the context of coffee exports, but also cautiously said that the data only reflects the situation in the first 1-2 months of the season, so it is not possible to draw an accurate conclusion. It is possible that FDI enterprises are facing difficulties with orders in the early stages of the season.
Meanwhile, major coffee exporters have predicted that some foreign companies may be waiting for coffee prices to fall before re-entering the market. Current coffee prices are considered high by many experts, making it more difficult for these companies to enter.
Vietnam is currently the world’s second largest coffee exporter and the leading producer of Robusta coffee. The world’s leading coffee and agricultural brands are all present in Vietnam, but in the coffee processing sector, FDI enterprises still have a great advantage in terms of capital, market and brand.
The current domestic coffee market situation is opening up many opportunities as well as challenges for domestic businesses, in the context of high prices and shifts in export market share. Close monitoring of the situation will be necessary to make appropriate strategic adjustments in the coming time.
