On May 11-12, the Provincial Children's Fund coordinated with the humanitarian organization Children Action (Switzerland) to organize free screening for motor disabilities for children under 16 years old at the Krong Pac District Medical Center and Thien Hanh General Hospital.
The screening was conducted directly by the Orthopedic Department, Toulouse University Children's Hospital (France) and La Fe Valencia Orthopedic Hospital (Spain).
Most children who come to the clinic have skeletal and joint movement abnormalities such as clubfoot, bow legs, hip dislocation, scoliosis, club hands... or cerebral palsy, burn scars.
After the examination, children who are indicated for surgery and treatment will be 100% free of charge and will receive consultation, support, and physical therapy. In addition, children who come for screening from poor or near-poor households or children receiving monthly social benefits will also be supported by the organizers with food and travel expenses of 150,000 VND/child.

Mr. Lam Dinh Nhien, Director of the Provincial Children's Fund, said that since 2006, the Provincial Children's Fund has coordinated with orthopedic and rehabilitation hospitals to organize surgery for motor disabilities for 712 children in the province, with a budget of more than 3.5 billion VND. This is a meaningful program organized to help children with motor disabilities in the province to be examined, have surgery, have the opportunity to live, study and develop like normal children, reducing difficulties for their families.
In the coming time, the Provincial Children's Support Fund will step up information and propaganda work so that people in remote and border areas can access the program, to have more opportunities for humanitarian examination and surgery for children with disabilities.

On this occasion, nearly 400 children in the province with motor disabilities, cerebral palsy, and burn scars were examined for free. In addition, the program's organizers mobilized organizations, businesses, units, and individuals to support gifts and lunch for children coming for examination.
Children who are scheduled for surgery will receive surgery, treatment, and orthopedic surgery at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to free surgery, the Provincial Children's Fund also coordinates to support transportation and food expenses for the children during treatment and surgery.
