Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police have recorded and handled more than 40,000 cases of alcohol concentration violations and driving on the road with drugs in the body in the first quarter of 2025 alone.
On March 24, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC08) informed about the results of handling alcohol concentration violations in Ho Chi Minh City.
Nearly 40,000 cases of alcohol and drug violations in Ho Chi Minh City were handled in nearly 3 months.
Specifically, in the first quarter of 2025 (from December 15, 2024 to March 14, 2025), Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police recorded 39,814 cases of violations of alcohol concentration regulations and 505 cases of driving on the road with drugs in the body.
Of which, 1,669 cars; 38,112 motorbikes; 33 rudimentary vehicles violated alcohol concentration; 10 cars, 495 motorbikes violated drug use.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that recently, the inspection and handling of violations of alcohol concentration regulations have been carried out resolutely with the motto "No forbidden zones, no exceptions", thereby contributing to maintaining stable traffic order and safety (TTATGT), raising people's awareness in implementing this regulation.
Traffic police have strictly handled cases of alcohol concentration violations in recent times.
In 2025, PC08 will deploy a plan to patrol, control and handle violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents, focusing on 6 groups of topics, focusing on checking and strictly handling cases of using alcohol, beer and drugs while driving.
Alcohol concentration testing focuses on time frames, routes, and areas where violations are more complicated.
During the inspection and handling process, the Traffic Police always focus on ensuring safety for traffic participants and officers on duty, but still ensure that all violations are strictly handled according to the law.
However, in reality, in many cases of violations of regulations on alcohol concentration or use of drugs and stimulants prohibited by law, when the authorities check, people are always in a state of agitation and lack of self-control... causing difficulties in inspection and handling.
Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police regularly organizes training courses to improve skills, professional expertise, behavioral culture, and new legal documents on traffic safety for officers and soldiers.
At the same time, coordinate with agencies, units, companies and enterprises to organize propaganda and disseminate legal knowledge on traffic safety to people.
