Nearly 200 athletes participate in the 2025 Bac Giang Province Open Cycling Race "Journey in the footsteps of the Buddha King"

As part of the series of events of the Bac Giang Provincial Culture - Tourism Week 2025, on February 12, 2025, at the Bac Giang Provincial Sports Stadium, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized an open cycling race "Journey in the footsteps of the Buddha King".

Delegates and Organizing Committee presented souvenir flags to the participating clubs.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Truong Quang Hai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee; Nguyen Trong Bac, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; members of the Organizing Committee, professional subcommittee, referees, heads of delegations, coaches and athletes of the delegations.

Male athletes start

The tournament attracted nearly 200 male and female athletes from 14 cycling clubs in and outside the province. The athletes competed in 4 categories: Women aged 18-60; men aged 18-34; 35-45; 46-62.

The male athletes started from the Provincial Sports Stadium, followed Provincial Road 293 through Bac Giang City and the districts of Luc Nam, Luc Ngan, Son Dong and finished at Tay Yen Tu Spiritual - Ecological Tourist Area (Son Dong) with a distance of 70 km. The female athletes started from Kham Lang intersection (Luc Nam), went through Luc Ngan district and finished at Tay Yen Tu Spiritual - Ecological Tourist Area with a distance of 50 km. The routes the athletes passed through had many historical and cultural relics and beautiful natural scenery.

The first open cycling race organized by Bac Giang province is within the framework of the activities of the Provincial Culture - Tourism Week 2025, contributing to promoting the image of the land, people, typical and unique cultural heritage values of the province. At the same time, encouraging and spreading the movement of physical exercise and sports among the people.

After a day of exciting competition, the tournament was a great success. The Organizing Committee awarded 04 sets of prizes to outstanding athletes in each category./.
