The first two villages selected for installation are Hang E village (Pa Vay Su commune) and Tung Qua Lin village (Tung Qua Lin commune), Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province.
Both villages currently have difficulty with rural roads, especially at night, and the mountainous terrain is still rugged. The lack of lighting systems has greatly affected the movement of people.
Pa Vay Su is a highland border commune of Phong Tho district. The whole commune has 6 villages with more than 2,300 Mong ethnic people living. Hang E village is the most difficult village here with a total of 90 households/558 people, but the number of poor households is up to 82 households/459 people.
Meanwhile, Tung Qua Lin is a mountainous border commune with difficult socio-economic conditions in Phong Tho district. This is home to nearly 500 people, whose income mainly depends on agriculture.
The total distance is 8km, equivalent to 100 bulbs and lamp posts that were successfully installed at the end of September, bringing light to the people, contributing to helping the two communes of Tung Qua Lin and Pa Vay Su implement the new rural construction program, ensuring security and order.
In October and November 2024, the Lien Quan Mobile gaming community will continue to deploy the program simultaneously in Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Son La and Cao Bang provinces. The program is expected to be completed by the end of November 2024 with 11 copies awarded. In total, nearly 30km of highland roads will be lit up with tens of thousands of beneficiaries.
Bringing light to the villages
The project "Lighting up the highlands" is organized by the Lien Quan Mobile player community in collaboration with VietNamNet newspaper in the provinces of Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Yen Bai and Cao Bang.
The locations where solar lighting systems are installed are village roads with difficult terrain for night travel, posing a risk of nighttime accidents for local people and children.
In particular, routes passing through schools, cultural houses and other public places are given priority for early implementation.
