On October 25, in Korea, Samsung officially launched the Z Fold Special Edition and the product was sold out after only 10 minutes of going on sale.
It is known that in Korea, the device is only sold on Samsung's website instead of at dealers and carriers, although user demand is still very high.
Currently, apart from the two markets of Korea and China, there is no release date for the Z Fold Special Edition in other markets.
According to information, a variant of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is said to be launched in China under the name Samsung W25, distributed by carrier China Telecomi with two color options: gold and black.
According to Samsung's website, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has a 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch folding display. When measured horizontally, the phone measures 10.6mm when folded and 4.9mm when unfolded.
This makes the phone slightly thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold6. It still uses an Armor Aluminum frame and is IPX8 water resistant.
The Z Fold Special Edition costs $1,020 in South Korea. Despite its high price tag, $500 more than the Z Fold6, many people still choose it because it has better specs than the Z Fold6.
The version is equipped with a 200MP main camera (while the Z Fold6 only has 50MP). The device also has 16GB of RAM, Wifi 7 connection to help improve speed, multitasking ability and AI processing performance compared to the 12GB RAM and Wifi 6E of the Z Fold6.
