FPT Retail joins mobile telecommunications with prefix 0775

FPT Digital Retail Joint Stock Company (FPT Retail) officially provides FPT mobile network in the form of MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), becoming the 5th MVNO in Vietnam after iTel (prefix 087), Reddi (055), Local (089) and VNSKY (077).

As a virtual network, FPT - MVNO does not own the wireless network infrastructure, instead it will cooperate to use the infrastructure of MobiFone network to provide telecommunications services to customers.

According to license No. 135/GP-CVT, FPT Retail is allowed to provide telecommunications services on the terrestrial mobile telecommunications network from May 30, 2023, including: Telecommunications services on the terrestrial mobile telecommunications network with IMT-2000 and IMT-Advanced standards provided to telecommunications subscribers who sign telecommunications service contracts with enterprises; Telecommunications services on the GSM standard telecommunications network provided to telecommunications subscribers when implementing the CS Fallback feature or in case the terrestrial mobile telecommunications network with IMT-2000 and IMT-Advanced standards is not available.

In the context of a difficult and volatile retail market, the deployment of a virtual mobile network is considered a flexible move for FPT Retail to take advantage of and promote the existing advantages of a system of more than 800 FPT Shop stores nationwide, selling over 1.5 million smartphones as well as various IoT devices each year. Mr. Hoang Trung Kien, General Director of FPT Retail, said that the core customer group of the 0775 number will be the young, dynamic generation who love to explore and experience.

" We will integrate services, utilities, and content in the FPT ecosystem and partners so that customers can conveniently use services and effectively exploit selected packages. FPT mobile network also applies advanced technologies such as Cloud computing, Chat BOT, AI... to improve service capacity and meet customer needs, comply with telecommunications industry regulations and standards for sustainable ESG development ," said Mr. Hoang Trung Kien.

FPT Retail representative also expressed the desire to effectively exploit the existing customer base (from the mobile device retail industry) and build a loyal customer base, thereby creating a sustainable source of revenue. At the same time, the unit hopes to combine the advantages of member businesses in the same group to achieve synergy effects such as developing corporate customer groups (telecommunications solutions for businesses), household customers (combining Internet - television), customers using IoT, M2M services...

Along with officially entering the Vietnamese mobile telecommunications market from January 11, 2024, FPT Retail introduced the FLEX mobile package with a subscription fee of VND 88,000/month, users will have 5 GB of high-speed mobile data per day, 150 minutes of calls within FPT and MobiFone networks (applicable for calls under 10 minutes), 30 minutes of calls outside the network. In addition, FLEX subscribers will not waste internet capacity when accessing FPT Play television and entertainment services.
