Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) has just announced the resolution of the Board of Directors on convening the 2024 Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.

The two main contents of this resolution are the location of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to be held in Hanoi, the meeting to discuss the relocation of the head office and some other issues (if any).

Accordingly, Eximbank will hold the 2024 Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM) on November 28 in Hanoi but has not announced the specific location.

The new location chosen as the head office has not been mentioned in the proposal. Meanwhile, Eximbank's current head office is located at Vincom Center building, 72 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Nghe ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

At the annual general meeting of shareholders in April 2024 , the bank planned to move its headquarters from the 8th floor of Vincom Center building, 72 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Nghe ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City to the office building (Fideco Center) at 28 Phung Khac Khoan, Da Kao ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. However, this proposal was not approved by the general meeting of shareholders.

The changes of Eximbank arose after the new shareholder - Gelex Group Corporation (a company headquartered in Hanoi) became a major shareholder of this bank with a 10% stake.

Previously, Gelex Group Corporation (HoSE: GEX) acquired nearly 175 million EIB shares in August 2024, equivalent to 10% of the bank's charter capital and became the largest shareholder. Gelex Group is currently headquartered in Le Dai Hanh Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

In addition to Gelex, according to the list as of August 13, Eximbank also has shareholders holding more than 1% of capital, including: VIX Securities JSC holding 62.3 million shares, equivalent to 3.58% of charter capital; Ms. Le Thi Mai Loan holding 17.9 million shares, equivalent to 1.03% of capital and Ms. Luong Thi Cam Tu holding 19.5 million shares, equivalent to 1.12% of capital. In which, Ms. Le Thi Mai Loan is a shareholder related to the Bamboo Capital group.

Several members of Eximbank's Board of Directors were once leaders of businesses based in the Northern region.
