From the Dragon Bridge - one of the beautiful bridges connecting the two banks of the Han River, a group of dozens of tourists check-in with the most beautiful frame of a corner of the "Worth Living City"...

People are proud of the dynamic and developing city.

In the last days of March 2025, the atmosphere in the area where we stayed was recorded, the people in Residential Groups 8, 9, 11, 12 (in Hoa Cuong Nam Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang) were all strangely happy. Nearby streets such as Thang Long, Truong Chi Chuong, Le Anh Xuan; neighboring residential areas such as Hoa Son 1, Hoa Son 4... everywhere were taken care of by the people, cleaned and sanitized, and the red flag with yellow star was hung in front of their houses.

People and residential groups in Da Nang happily and excitedly organized the National Festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Da Nang Liberation Day.

Going out to the main roads such as 2/9, Phan Dang Luu, ... makes me feel happier when I see flags and flowers everywhere. People flock to see the "Exhibition "Da Nang - Development and Integration" and feel the full journey of half a century - Da Nang has overcome many difficulties and challenges, and grown strongly. From a small city, Da Nang has now become one of the leading economic - cultural - social and tourism centers of the country...

Mr. Nguyen Van Cu (63 years old, retired cadre, Head of Residential Group 11, Hoa Son 4 area) emotionally shared that never before have Da Nang people been as happy and excited as today. “In the past few days, the city's people have been living in the atmosphere of a big festival. The people of Group 11 are very moved, thanking the attention of the leaders and city government, from the budget, they have supported 7 million VND for each residential group; 10 million VND for each village; businesses have supported drinks... so that people can organize a National Festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the homeland. This is an opportunity to connect people in the residential area, creating a joyful atmosphere like a festival, excitement, and solidarity for the people". We heard more, from this concern, throughout the city, 100% of residential groups and villages organized and many families, all members of the family participated in the party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the city's Liberation Day.

The day we met after the intimate meeting with veteran revolutionary cadres, meritorious people, and typical policy families in the Central region chaired by General Secretary To Lam on the afternoon of March 28, People's Armed Forces Hero Ngo Thi Hue (born in 1942) confided that her generation, with many comrades and teammates, had faced fierce years of war, faced rains of bombs and bullets, and everyone had rushed forward to contribute to gaining independence and freedom; that is why everyone can feel the sacredness of these days.

“The war left behind serious consequences, but with the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant, Da Nang focused on construction and development. These years after liberation, although there are still many difficulties, are also the time to test the mettle and steadfast spirit of the Party Committee, government and people of the city, laying a solid foundation for future development,” Ms. Ngo Thi Hue shared.

Excited about the great achievements of the continuous development journey of Da Nang City, Architect Vu Quang Hung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Association of Architects (Head of the Management Board of the High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks of Da Nang) said that the most important turning point in the development journey of Da Nang was in 1997, when the city officially became a centrally-governed city. From here, Da Nang entered a period of breakthrough development, establishing its position as the economic - cultural - social center of the Central region and the whole country. Symbolic works such as the Han River Bridge, Dragon Bridge, Hai Van Tunnel, Da Nang International Airport... not only demonstrate modern infrastructure and urban expansion, but also demonstrate the city's aspiration to reach higher and further.

“Many important achievements in all fields cannot be attributed to the role of generations of Da Nang leaders, people with the spirit of innovation, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility. People on the banks of the Han River were very impressed and excited when speaking at the ceremony to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang Party Committee (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025), General Secretary To Lam emphasized: "It can be said that the greatest achievement of the Da Nang Party Committee is to win the hearts of the people and that is the precious pride of the heroic people of Da Nang. This is the premise to create a combined strength for Da Nang to develop rapidly and comprehensively in the following years".

In fact, after 95 years since the establishment of the City Party Committee and half a century since the liberation of the city, Da Nang is growing strongly, becoming a modern, dynamic and livable city. The journey forward today continues to affirm the correctness of constant innovation, pioneering spirit, creativity in development, especially the profound lesson of "taking people as the root", which is the foundation for all policies and strategies.

One of the most important lessons of Da Nang in recent times is that Party committees and authorities at all levels have always sought consensus, which is the "popularity" that the General Secretary mentioned. The city's leaders said that the consensus of the people is the core factor that helps the city carry out strong reforms. All policies and guidelines of the Party Committee and the city's government have one thing in common: People not only participate in implementation but are also beneficiaries. The city always attaches development goals to improving the quality of people's lives in each period. Therefore, the city has many specific social security policies, becoming a model for many other localities to refer to...

At the working session with the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee and the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee on the afternoon of March 29, in addition to the directives to maximize the strengths of the Quang - Da region to reach out to the ocean, General Secretary To Lam noted the core value of the spirit of wholeheartedly serving the people.

For example, when mentioning the important issue that the Central Committee and the National Assembly will soon discuss about the issue of provincial merger - a revolution, an institutional breakthrough to prepare for the "hundred-year vision" of national development, in which it is expected that Quang Nam will merge with Da Nang, the General Secretary suggested that the locality promote the work of Party building and the political system, associated with innovation of the organizational model, tightening discipline, improving the capacity and quality of cadres. Cadres must truly be the center of innovation, people who are close to the people, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, and are people who spread trust among the people...

And in the key tasks when the new administrative unit is established, the General Secretary did not forget to remind the city leaders to continue to improve and care for people's lives, focus on poverty reduction, and create many jobs for local human resources...

A city leader shared with us that, in the journey of Da Nang’s relentless development, there is a baggage that is like an invaluable asset, which is “people’s hearts”. Generations of Da Nang leaders have all recognized the value of the great lesson about the strength of solidarity, consensus, and consistency between the Party’s will and people’s hearts; thereby making the most of the “human harmony” factor in the relationship with “Heaven’s time, earth’s advantage…”, which is considered the default relationship of all successes…
