Temporarily suspend activities of children's groups where child abuse occurs, continue investigation and handling

On the afternoon of April 12, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Son district (Quang Nam) said that after receiving information about the case of two children being abused at the CC Children's Group, in the morning of the same day, he directed the District Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the People's Committee of Que My commune to visit, encourage the family and check the health status of the two children; at the same time, directed the People's Committee of Que My commune to issue a notice to temporarily suspend the activities of this children's group.

Regarding this incident, according to Mr. Hoa, the People's Committee of Que My commune has provided a brief report on the situation. The incident was determined to have occurred at around 11:55 a.m. on April 11 at the CC Children's Group (Phuoc Chanh village, Que My commune, Que Son district), owned by Ms. Nguyen Ngoc UL (born in 1995, residing at the same address).

While watching the children go to sleep, Ms. L used her hand to grab the leg of Ngo Le H.Nh (born 2023), pulled Nh on the bed, lifted him up, and in her left hand held a cylindrical plastic bar, 26cm long, 2.2cm in diameter, and hit Nh's soles many times.

After that, Ms. L also used the above plastic bar to continue hitting the feet of Nguyen Phuoc D.Kh (born in 2023), then used her left hand to hold one end of the plastic bar, the other end pressed against the face and mouth of Kh, and threatened the children to stop crying and go to sleep.

The incident was recorded by a camera in the children's classroom and at around 6:30 p.m. the same day, Kh's parent, Ms. Tan Thi Th (born 2001, residing in Que Phong commune, Que Son district) posted it on Facebook using her personal account.

Regarding the health status of the two children, according to information from the family, Kh is currently at Tam Tri Hospital ( Da Nang ) for monitoring; and on the morning of April 12, Nh was taken by his family to Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for examination and was examined by a doctor, then sent home for continued monitoring.

As reported by CAND Newspaper, regarding this child abuse case, the Office of the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Province Police in coordination with professional units and Que My Commune Police are continuing to investigate and handle the case.

It is known that the CC Children's Group, owned by Ms. L, was licensed to operate by the People's Committee of Que My commune in June 2020. In terms of human resources, this facility has an owner, 1 teacher, and 1 catering staff.
