At dawn, the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon Expressway construction site, the final section of the route, was bustling with the sound of machinery. After a quick breakfast of bread, workers of Truong Thinh Group Corporation entered a day of racing against time to increase production.

At 6:00 a.m., from afar, a series of K95 trucks carrying soil lined up along Highway 19 through An Nhon town, Binh Dinh, turning to dump on the main road. Behind, two bulldozers arrived to push the soil blocks out and spread the surface evenly. Three road rollers continued their work, rolling the layers of soil until they reached the required density.

The work on the site was coordinated smoothly, layer after layer of soil skillfully. By noon, hundreds of meters of road surface were filled with K95 soil that met standards.

Mr. Phan Dinh Quy, Executive Officer of Truong Thinh Group, said that at the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway, Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company undertook the construction of nearly 6km of package 12-XL (Km64+220 to Km70+091).

Within the scope of responsibility, the unit is mobilizing about 200 workers, divided into 4 main road construction teams and some teams to construct items such as bridges and culverts.

"The progress of the unit's part meets the set requirements. Up to now, the K95 earth filling item has reached 80%. To speed up the progress before the coming rainy season, we apply the rolling construction method.

As for the section from Km65 to Km67, the K95 peak has been completed, and then the K98 earthworks will be reinforced. With these 2km, we plan to build K98 in 7-10 days, and after ensuring the requirements, we will immediately proceed with the crushed stone mix," Mr. Quy shared.

Not far away, the section from Km50+465 to Km57+460 of package 12-XL, contractor Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company with hundreds of workers urgently constructed the items.

Mr. Mai Huy Cu, Deputy CEO of Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company, said that the contractor has completed two layers of crushed stone for nearly 5km.

"Not only do we work during the day, taking advantage of the sunny weather, we let the workers work at night. We take advantage of every day, every hour to speed up the project's progress in the approaching rainy season," Mr. Cu shared.

Ready machinery to clear the flow when there is flood

According to Mr. Mai Huy Cu, in parallel with urgent construction to make up for the progress before the rainy season, the unit has also made plans to ensure safety when storms and floods come.

"A command board to respond to floods and ensure safety at the construction site will be established. In particular, 100% of staff and workers will be on duty at the construction site during the days of floods and storms.

Currently, the K98 road embankment of the unit has been completed, so protecting the slope is very important. The unit is actively making paving slabs and smoothing the slope to sow grass to protect the slope. Dozens of long-arm excavators have also been mobilized, ready to clear the flow when the flood comes to protect the work done," said Mr. Cu.

Contractors are speeding up the construction of bridges and culverts on the route to drain floods as the rainy season is coming.

A representative of Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company added that the unit has 5 bridges, including Suoi Duc Bridge and Suoi Cham Bridge, which are over-stream bridges. At these bridges, the bridge deck and railings are being constructed, ensuring completion before the rainy season to keep the flow clear and avoid flooding that could affect the project.

According to Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Transport), on the entire Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway project, contractors are mobilizing 103 construction teams with 637 pieces of equipment and 1,355 personnel. The cumulative output to date has reached more than 3,900 billion VND, equivalent to more than 51% of the contract value, 0.24% faster than the approved schedule.

Responding to the approaching floods, the investor has also requested the contractor to deploy many solutions and urgently carry out construction to speed up important items, making up for the time lost due to storms and floods, especially bridges and culverts on the route to ensure smooth flow," said a representative of Project Management Board 85.

The Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon Expressway is over 70km long, passing through Binh Dinh province, with a total investment of over 12,400 billion VND, invested by Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Transport). In which, package 11-XL is constructed by Truong Son Construction Corporation.

Package 12-XL is constructed by the joint venture: Son Hai Group Co., Ltd. - Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company - CTGT 8 Construction Corporation - Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company - 471 Joint Stock Company.
