Coach Kim Sang-sik admitted to “copying” Coach Park's formula

Recently, coach Kim Sang-sik had an interview with Korean media about the problems of Vietnamese football.

Coach Kim Sang-sik is helping the Vietnamese team play well recently.

In this conversation, coach Kim Sang-sik said he has learned a lot from Mr. Park Hang-seo since coming to work in Vietnam.

“Coach Park Hang-seo has led the players very well with the style of a father. Therefore, I think I have to be closer to the players and care more about them.

We talk not only about football-related issues like tactics, but also about things outside of football,” said coach Kim Sang-sik.

After an initially unsuccessful period, coach Kim Sang-sik is gradually shaping the playing style of the Vietnamese team and has achieved initial results.

However, coach Kim affirmed that he will continue to make efforts to help Vietnamese football develop.

At the same time, he said he will look for new players, especially overseas Vietnamese players, to increase the strength of the Vietnamese team.

“I think Vietnamese football needs a generational change. To do that, we will actively seek naturalized players and players with dual nationality (overseas Vietnamese).

This is the trend of continental and global football. To further enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese football, we will have to follow the trend,” coach Kim Sang-sik emphasized.

In the immediate future, coach Kim Sang-sik and his colleagues will continue to watch domestic matches to find new players for the Vietnamese team towards the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

In this qualifying round, the Vietnamese team is in a group with Malaysia, Laos and Nepal. After the opening match, the "Golden Star Warriors" are temporarily leading the group.
