Making Vi and Giam folk songs a typical tourism product of Nghe An

(Dan Tri) - Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs will become a typical tourism product of Nghe An.

On the evening of November 23, at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Nghe An Province held a ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Over the past 10 years, Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs have demonstrated their strong vitality and spread strongly not only domestically but also beyond national borders.

The work of teaching heritage to the community has achieved many positive results, encouraging and supporting artisans to practice and pass on the heritage. The network of clubs has also been expanded, bringing Vi and Giam to many places around the world.

Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the cooperation of the authorities and people of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces in spreading this heritage. He expressed gratitude to the artisans and artists who have preserved and promoted the value of the heritage.

Mr. Long also called for continuing to implement the Action Program to protect and promote the value of Vi and Giam folk songs, and at the same time investing in building a local tourism brand associated with this heritage.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Ta Quang Dong, acknowledged the efforts of the authorities and people of the two provinces, and emphasized the need to coordinate with central agencies to promote heritage values.

Mr. Dong also proposed increasing investment in preserving and promoting heritage values, while promoting Vi and Giam folk songs at home and abroad through foreign affairs programs and cultural exchange activities.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded certificates of merit to 10 groups and individuals, while the People's Committee of Nghe An province also honored 20 groups and individuals for their contributions to the preservation and promotion of the value of Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk song heritage.

The art program "Vi, Giam, the shining soul of the countryside" took place with three parts: Soul of the countryside, Vi, Giam nurturing talents, and Convergence and shining, bringing the audience unique cultural experiences.
