Comedian Vu Quang and Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh in the play "Blood Stained Temple Courtyard"
The family of artist Vu Quang said he was admitted to An Binh Hospital for emergency treatment on March 31st. Besides the stroke, he also suffered from kidney failure and a urinary tract infection. For many years, he had not lived in Cho Hamlet, Thoi Lai Commune, Binh Dai District, Ben Tre Province. Due to his lonely circumstances, he was given shelter at Ngoc Quang Buddhist Temple (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City). After the stroke, he became paralyzed in both legs.

The "Golden Apricot Blossom Charity" program of the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, in collaboration with Nam A Commercial Bank, visited artist Vu Quang in Ben Tre.
Five years ago, the "Mai Vàng Humanitarian Program" (now "Mai Vàng Gratitude Program") visited him in Ben Tre and presented him with gifts, coinciding with a visit to People's Artist Thao Van, also in Ben Tre.
Artist Vu Quang once confided that after many years as a comedian, finding happiness in each role bringing laughter to the audience, and receiving enthusiastic applause on stage, he never imagined that in his old age, he would live with illness and poverty.
He expressed his gratitude to the "Golden Apricot Blossom Charity" program organized by the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper with the support of Nam A Commercial Bank. The Stage Journalists Club of the Ho Chi Minh City Stage Association also visited and presented him with gifts to help with his medical treatment.

The Theatre Journalists Club (journalists Thao Van, Ngoc Tuyet, and Thanh Hiep) visited artist Vu Quang.
Vu Quang was once a famous comedian on the Huynh Long traditional opera stage, loved by audiences for his performances in plays such as: "Spring Comes to the Peak of Ma Phi", "The Trial of Phi Giao", "The Hero Selling Charcoal", "Liu Bei Proposes to Jiang Zuo"... When the Golden Stage of People's Artist Minh Vuong and People's Artist Le Thuy organized the play "Blood Stained Temple Courtyard", he performed alongside Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh and was well-received by the audience.

Artist Vu Quang is paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair, but he remains very optimistic.
Coming from a family with a tradition in cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera), with all his siblings involved in the profession, comedian Vũ Quang was taught by skilled teachers and learned to sing traditional opera and cải lương from a young age. He spent over 10 years writing scripts, served as deputy head of the troupe in charge of artistic affairs, and worked in staging.
Artist Vu Quang is a comedian who has participated in many Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) troupes such as Tien Giang , Minh To, Saigon 1... Currently, journalist Tran Dai Phu and other artists have organized a fundraising campaign to help artist Vu Quang overcome his illness.
"Many artists are concerned about the health of comedian Vu Quang. Many colleagues have helped him in recent days, even if it's just a small contribution. The Huynh Long traditional opera troupe is always concerned about Vu Quang's health. We hope he will recover soon. Audiences still love his charming comedic roles on the traditional opera stage," shared artist Binh Tinh.
