On the afternoon of April 1, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, a concert was held to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the death of musician Trinh Cong Son.
With the theme "Peaceful nursery rhymes", the program aims to celebrate 50 years of peace and the end of war - a milestone in history and pride of the Vietnamese people before the world.
Musician Trinh Cong Son is always here
Although the show started at 5pm, many audiences flocked to Ho Chi Minh City Book Street from 4pm, waiting for the concert to begin. Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , some people said they arrived early so as not to miss this special moment.
Not only the audience with silver hair, the program also attracted many young people, students, and foreign tourists. All had in common the passion and love for Trinh's music.

MC Tung Leo, on behalf of the family, said: "Please call him 'musician Trinh Cong Son' instead of 'late musician Trinh Cong Son'. Because he is still here with us. Today, he also attended this program, we believe so."
The program began with the song Nhu mot hon bi xanh (Like a green marble ) in Vietnamese and English, performed by a special singer - representing the 4th generation in the family of musician Trinh Cong Son.
According to MC Tung Leo, this song is outside the program's script and outside the theme of 50 years of peace.
However, after consideration, the family decided to choose this song as the opening because "instead of saying something far-fetched, let's start with everyone choosing this 'green marble' as their hometown".

And indeed, Like a Blue Marble was the perfect choice to open the show. Without anyone having to remind anyone, hundreds of spectators began humming the familiar melody "Like a Blue Marble/The Earth spins/Our house is small/In the heart of a homeland...".
Immediately after that, the program took the audience back to the past, looking back at the tumultuous, painful but still hopeful period through the lens of musician Trinh Cong Son. Those were the years that could be summed up in the word waiting - Waiting to see the homeland shine.

In the first chapter, the legendary song goes from the passionate longing for peace like Waiting to see the bright homeland, Please let the sun sleep peacefully, Mother's legend... to the excitement of thinking about independence in What did we see tonight .
One of the special things about the music night was that the artists - close brothers of the late musician Trinh Cong Son - always "burned" themselves out with the audience.
Despite his limited health and difficulty stepping onto the stage, saxophone artist Tran Manh Tuan still brought deep emotions when continuously performing two songs , "Em di bo lai cong duong" and "Ca dao me" .

Singer Cam Van appeared to the enthusiastic applause of fans. She stirred up the atmosphere with the song Hue Saigon Hanoi - a song about the time when the country was divided and the desire for unity between the three regions.
Witnessing audiences of many ages loving Trinh's music, singer Cam Van was moved: "Although musician Trinh Cong Son passed away 24 years ago, his music still lives on forever. Thanks to his family, his music grows stronger every day.
Young people today are also gradually loving Trinh's music, which is a very beautiful and encouraging sign."

Passing through the melody of peace, chapter 2 opens with a series of immortal love songs, associated with many generations with the theme "Four seasons of changing leaves". These are the songs Pink Rain, Memory, White Summer, Give Life a Little Grace, Please Give Me, Every Day I Choose a Joy...

Even though she was undergoing treatment, singer Hong Nhung still attended, performing two consecutive songs, " O tro" and "Let's love each other" .
A heavy rain suddenly poured down while Hong Nhung was singing Let's Love Each Other . However, the harsh weather could not stop the audience from "floating" along to Trinh's music.

Some held umbrellas, some braved the rain, but no one left. Together they sang familiar melodies, as if Trinh Cong Son's music connected people, despite the challenges of time and circumstances.
The concert commemorating the 24th anniversary of musician Trinh Cong Son's death ended with "Noi vong tay lon" .
50 years ago, he sang this song loudly on Saigon Radio on the day of great victory. And now, after 50 years, "Joining Hands" once again resounds with the pride of hundreds of audiences.

"The family chose the theme of Children's Songs of Peace for the concert because this year marks the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification and the 24th anniversary of musician Trinh Cong Son's passing. We are moved and always grateful to the audience who love Trinh's music.
Even though 24 years have passed, their love for Trinh's music is still strong, and they love Trinh's music more and more. What's even more gratifying is that today's Gen Z generation has also started singing Trinh's music, expressing it in their own way and it's all very good" - singer Trinh Vinh Trinh shared.
