(Dan Tri) - Ca Mau province plans to support the construction, repair and upgrading of martyrs' graves buried on damaged and degraded family land with a cost of 15-20 million VND/grave.
On December 3, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province submitted a document to the competent authority on regulations to support the construction of new tomb shells and repair and upgrade damaged and degraded martyrs' graves when buried on family land.
Statistics from the authorities show that the locality has 12,050 martyrs’ remains collected. Of these, 8,324 are in the martyrs’ cemetery and 3,726 are buried at home (collected more than 60 years ago).

Of the martyrs' graves managed by families, 3,184 are in normal, good condition; 81 graves are damaged and the families have paid for their own repairs.
There are 461 damaged graves (including 12 earthen graves and 449 degraded graves) that need urgent support for upgrading and repair, but their relatives are in difficulty and cannot afford the repairs.
Ca Mau province plans to support the above 461 martyrs' graves, with 20 million VND/grave for new construction and 15 million VND/grave for repair and upgrade.
"The total estimated budget to support the construction of new tomb shells and repair and upgrade damaged martyrs' graves is nearly 7 billion VND," according to the report of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province.
The province only supports each individual and household to manage the martyrs' graves once and encourages the martyrs' relatives to contribute to ensure the construction, repair and upgrading of solid and solemn graves.
According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, this is necessary, demonstrating profound humanity in gratitude activities and in accordance with practical needs arising in the province.
