The project to upgrade and renovate Tam Ky Stadium and Athletes' Housing, invested by the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, was approved by the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee on January 5, 2022 with a total investment of 40 billion VND. Investment items include building a new national team housing with a scale of 3 floors and a construction area of about 343m2 . Upgrading the grass field and automatic irrigation system, removing the grass layer, soil and dismantling the irrigation system, underground drainage, and old existing ditches.
New investment in the football field foundation includes underground drainage system and drainage ditches, surrounding manholes; underground water tank and specialized grass irrigation system; soil filling and new grass replacement. Specialized equipment for field maintenance and upkeep.
The project also invests in renovating the athletics track, removing and replacing the damaged synthetic asphalt layer and track surface; constructing a 13mm thick synthetic rubber layer, marking the competition path; pouring concrete from the existing base to the ditch walls. Repairing and upgrading the lighting system, cleaning and maintaining the entire stadium lighting power supply system.
In addition, the project also added some light bulbs to ensure the brightness according to the standards. Repair stands A, B, C, D, waterproof the entire stands; clean, paint and replace some damaged railings and chairs. Clean and paint all damaged walls, beams, and roofs. The project started construction on March 26, 2024, with a contract implementation period of 420 days and a contract value of VND 31.1 billion. The volume of work performed to date is about VND 10/31.1 billion, reaching 32% of the contract value.
Currently, the investment project to upgrade the grass field and automatic irrigation system has constructed drainage ditches around the football field, the field drainage system and automatic irrigation system, and is constructing the grass field. The investment project to renovate the athletics track has basically completed the construction of the EPDM plastic base.
Stands A, A1, A2, have renovated the main hall stairs of stand A and the exit to stand A, the stair railings, and the stand railings. The toilets have been basically renovated. The walls and floors of the stand have been cleaned and repainted. Stand B has been cleaned and is being renovated. Stands C and D have been renovated and the stand floors have been concreted. The national team's housing (dormitory) and the fence of stand D have not yet been constructed.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung, in order to promptly put Tam Ky Stadium into use for the 2024-2025 national football championship season, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board needs to coordinate and urge the contractor to concentrate human resources, even work overtime day and night, speed up the completion of the grass field, automatic irrigation system, lighting system in August 2024 and the remaining items of the stadium before September 15, 2024.
