Lieutenant Phuc helps people overcome consequences after natural disasters |
Having made many trips “following” officers and soldiers of the Training and Mobility Battalion, the core force of the youth of the Border Guard (BĐBP) of Hue city, to the sea border to participate in summer volunteer work; to the land border to participate in the “Border March” activity…, I was impressed with a young commander who always stood side by side with new soldiers (CSM) in all activities. Senior Lieutenant Phuc not only urged and guided but also directly threw himself into the work: carrying construction materials, roofing houses, painting walls… His military uniform was always soaked with sweat.
According to Senior Lieutenant Phuc, he always remembers the advice of commanders at all levels: No words of encouragement are more effective than practical examples. Therefore, he tries his best to fulfill his role and responsibility to encourage soldiers to strive to perform their tasks well.
Before taking on the task at the battalion, Phuc was the Deputy Captain of the Mass Mobilization Team, Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station; he had the opportunity to "rub" the area, get close to the people, and be trained when participating in activities to help the people with his teammates.
More than 3 years ago, 40 houses in Khanh My and Xuan Thien Ha villages of Vinh Xuan commune (Phu Vang) had their roofs blown off and walls collapsed due to a tornado. The Border Guard was the core force, along with other forces, coordinating with local authorities to quickly help people clean up the rubble and overcome the initial consequences. Officers and soldiers of Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station continued to "stay", regardless of the hardship, helping households repair their houses, so that people could soon stabilize their lives.
At that time, Le Phuoc Hoang Phuc played the role of a young officer, actively supporting the people. Perhaps, the local people will remember in their hearts the beautiful images of the Deputy Captain of the Mass Mobilization Team and his teammates: braving the rain, wind, and floods to bring the elderly and children to safety; re-roofing houses; helping to deliver food and necessary items donated by volunteer groups to the homes of affected people, along with warm words of encouragement and support.
When he arrived at the Training - Mobile Battalion, as the Secretary of the Training Company Youth Union and assigned to be in charge of CSM, Senior Lieutenant Phuc passed on the enthusiasm of the youth of Uncle Ho's soldiers to the new recruits, joining hands with the unit to successfully complete the CSM training program.
“The training process, the organization of cultural and artistic activities, and taking care of the CSM to have a “healthy” spiritual life are very important. As Secretary of the Youth Union, Senior Lieutenant Phuc has performed this task excellently,” Major Nguyen Tuan Tai shared.
The unit commander said that when the CSM performed the songs: Youth following Uncle Ho's words; Welcome to the Communist Party of Vietnam; Singing forever the military march; The heart of a soldier..., with touching and solemn feelings, one could see in the hearts of the young soldiers the love and pride for the Fatherland and the country; the "oath" to follow in the footsteps of previous generations, to fulfill the sacred duty of protecting the Fatherland. The CSM enthusiastically contributed their youth through summer volunteering, helping people; and joining hands to build a green, clean, and beautiful unit. After each annual training session, the CSMs have fulfilled their duties well on the two borders.
“During this time, the unit organized for students from kindergartens and primary schools in the area to experience “a day as a soldier” to educate them about tradition. Senior Lieutenant Le Phuoc Hoang Phuc did not mind the hardships and did a good job of preparing (after a day of training, he practiced singing and dancing for the CSM every night, to perform with the children), so that the students’ experience day would be complete and memorable,” said Major Nguyen Tuan Tai.
Receiving many certificates of merit from the Hue City Border Guard Command and the Phu Vang District People's Committee, Senior Lieutenant Phuc confided that it was an honor. He will continue to make every effort to successfully complete the training mission with the unit. Each new recruit who "has strong legs and soft stones" on every border is the most valuable "reward".
