Preparing for the LPBank Cup 2024 International Friendly Tournament in Hanoi on the occasion of FIFA Days in September, the Thai team has been gathering since September 2. However, coach Masatada Ishii and his team only arrived in Vietnam on the evening of September 5, two days before the opening match against the Russian team at My Dinh Stadium. After landing at Noi Bai airport at 8:30 p.m., the Thai team spent a lot of time waiting for immigration and getting their luggage. Therefore, when they returned to the Grand Hotel to check in and rest, the opening match between the Vietnamese team and Russia on the evening of September 5 was almost over, missing the opportunity to watch it even on television.

In the list of 23 players coming to Vietnam, coach Masatada Ishii has called up 10 new players who are playing for the national team for the first time and most of them are under 23 years old. This was explained by the Japanese coach to test and find a new generation of players for Thai football. Among them, notable new recruits include central defender Songwut Kraikruan (1m88 tall), central defender with Thai and Danish blood Jonathan Khemdee (1m90), the Swedish-born duo of midfielder William Weidersjo and striker Patrik Gustavsson... Tomorrow afternoon (September 6), Thailand and Russia will attend a pre-match press conference at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). In the evening of the same day, the two teams will have a practice session to get acquainted with My Dinh Stadium at 5pm and 7pm.
The LPBank Cup 2024 international friendly tournament will feature three teams from Vietnam, Russia and Thailand, organized by the VFF.
