Duy Tan University Women's Volleyball Team is the 2023 National Runner-up

The Duy Tan University women's volleyball team gave the audience dramatic and exciting sets throughout the tournament to excellently win the runner-up position at the 2023 National Student Volleyball Tournament held at the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture (Hanoi).

The 2023 National Student Volleyball Tournament is a large-scale tournament organized by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietcontent. The tournament attracted the participation of 120 men's and women's volleyball teams from the North, Central and South. The qualifying round took place from October 10 to 26, 2023 to select 18 teams to compete in the Final Round in Hanoi.

In the Women's Volleyball Qualifiers in the Central region, there are 4 participating teams:

- Danang University of Physical Education and Sports,

- Hue University,

- Duy Tan University,

- Hue University of Education.

With the round-robin format, in the final 2 decisive matches:

• Duy Tan University won 2-0 against Hue University of Education.
• Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports won 2-1 against Hue University.

Accordingly, Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports and Duy Tan University became the two teams representing the Central region to join 7 teams from the Northern and Southern regions to participate in the Final Round taking place from November 6 to 10, 2023 at the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, Hanoi.

In Group B of 5 teams, Duy Tan University's women's volleyball team played excellently, defeating all 4 teams in the same group:

• Beat Vietnam Agricultural Academy with a score of 2 - 0,
• Beat Hanoi University of Science and Technology with a score of 2 - 0,
• Won against National Economics University with a score of 2 - 1,
• Won against HUTECH University Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) with a score of 2 - 0.

In this group, all teams played very well, including the National Economics University women's team, which has won the championship in Hanoi for many years, along with HUTECH University in Ho Chi Minh City, a famous team in women's volleyball. However, with confidence, determination and fair play throughout the group, the Duy Tan University women's volleyball team won an absolute victory to enter the Semi-finals to meet the volleyball team from the University of Physical Education and Sports in Ho Chi Minh City.

The assessment of the competitive ability of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports is that both teams are equally matched, so both teams compete with a steady mentality. This is also a volleyball match that brings viewers technical sets with the confidence of both teams. Viewers go from one surprise to another with the ball hitting ability of the two extremely excellent main attackers of Duy Tan University: Do Thi Thuy and Le Thi Anh Nguyet; or the observation and professional handling of situations by team captain Le Thi Thanh Thuy; or the beautiful passes that leave a strong personal mark with the breakthrough playing style of setter Nguyen Huynh Huong. All create a harmonious harmony for the Duy Tan University women's volleyball team to win against Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports with a score of 2 - 1 and enter the final match.

Meeting their "fated opponent" Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports again in the final match of the tournament with a format of 5 sets (while the group stage matches were only 3 sets), the girls from Duy Tan University competed with the highest determination. After leading 2-0 in the first 2 sets, the Duy Tan University women's volleyball team lost the following sets and stopped as runner-up at the 2023 National Student Volleyball Tournament.

4- It is undeniable that coming from a school specializing in training in the field of Physical Education and Sports, the women's volleyball team of Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports competed very professionally and had very good physical strength. The championship title was extremely worthy. On the other hand, the runner-up team, Duy Tan University, came from a non-specialized university. The members only gathered because of their love for volleyball and did not have much practice time, so the runner-up prize is still a great source of pride for the young girls of DTU.

Dang Hang Mai Linh of Duy Tan University is in the Top 5 of Miss Volleyball National Student 2023

In the joy of winning the runner-up position of the tournament, a key player in the Duy Tan University women's volleyball team also entered the Top 5 of the 2023 National Student Volleyball Beauty Pageant. That student is Dang Hang Mai Linh from the School of Tourism (HTi), Duy Tan University.

Le Thi Thanh Thuy - Captain of the Duy Tan University Women's Volleyball Team, currently a student of Tourism and Hotel Management, shared: "After finishing the Central Region Qualifying Round, our team only had 10 days to prepare for the National Finals. Although the training time was short and the weather in Hanoi was not favorable, all members of the team tried their best and competed with the most comfortable mentality. Therefore, we are completely satisfied with what we have shown in the season as well as the achievements we have achieved. Through this, I would like to send my thanks to the school and teachers, especially teachers Phung Anh Quan, Tran Vien Dong, Truong Thai Son and friends who have encouraged and enthusiastically helped the whole team throughout the process from training to competition. This award is not only a recognition of our efforts but also a motivation for us to continue practicing and reap more impressive achievements in the next competitions".

In addition to the runner-up title of the 2023 National Student Volleyball Tournament, the Duy Tan University women's volleyball team won the "2022 Volleyball Tournament for University, College, and Armed Forces Students" in October 2022.

It is known that this is the first time the Duy Tan University women's volleyball team has participated but achieved a high ranking in a national tournament. Although not trained in a professional environment, the girls of Duy Tan University have devoted a lot of love to volleyball, a physical education subject that many students love to register to study during their university studies at Duy Tan.
