Attending the Conference were Mr. Pham Dinh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Inspection Committee of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's Trade Union; leaders of the Vietnam Geological Survey and all union members of the Department.
Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Tran My Dung - Deputy Director, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Vietnam Geological Survey said: The Congress has great significance, demonstrating the will and determination of all cadres, civil servants, employees, and union members of the Vietnam Geological Survey to strive to overcome all difficulties, promote high intelligence, sense of responsibility and solidarity and unity to best complete the tasks set out by the Congress.
Reporting at the Congress, Mr. Tran My Dung said that although it was only established for about 5 months, the Vietnam Geological Survey Trade Union has proactively implemented well the tasks and powers of a grassroots trade union. The Trade Union of the Department has guided, organized and directed its member grassroots trade unions to implement the directives and resolutions of the Party Committee and the higher-level trade union.
Fully aware of the rights and responsibilities of trade unions in representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of trade union members and workers, the Trade Union of the Department is always proactive in gathering and resolving the legitimate and legal aspirations of trade union members and workers; actively participating with the government in developing and implementing legal documents, policies and regimes, especially policies and regimes related to the rights and obligations of workers such as: labor contracts; appointment and planning of cadres; spending welfare funds, paying salaries, raising salaries ahead of schedule due to outstanding achievements, regular salary increases, seniority allowances beyond the framework, etc.
According to Mr. Tran My Dung, in the 2023 - 2028 term, the Department's Trade Union will continue to improve the quality of consulting, researching and building legal policies; effectively perform the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of cadres, civil servants, public employees and union members; and promote the care of practical interests for union members.
The Union will also strengthen information, propaganda and education work to contribute to improving the qualifications, capacity and qualities of cadres, civil servants and public employees to meet the requirements of the period of accelerating industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration; innovate and improve the effectiveness of emulation movements; promote the development of union members, build a strong union organization; improve the effectiveness of women's work...
With the motto of the Congress, with the attention of the Leaders, the Party Committee of the Department and the enthusiasm of union members from the Vietnam Geological Survey to the affiliated Federations, Mr. Duong Trung Thanh, Chairman of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's Trade Union, hopes that the Department's Trade Union will promote the strengths of the Vietnam Geological Survey and Minerals Trade Union and learn from the activities and remaining issues.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Geological Survey Trade Union must do a good job of political and ideological work for all union members, because this is a unit with many cadres operating nationwide, especially in mountainous areas, remote areas, and even offshore. When the government takes on professional tasks, the Executive Board of the member grassroots trade unions and the Executive Board of the Department's grassroots trade unions must always stand side by side with union members, paying attention to issues of labor protection, regimes, and benefits of union members. Along with that, union members must strictly follow the regulations of the agency to avoid encountering cases of negligence, affecting the lives and common work of the unit.
Furthermore, in the context that the Trade Union is implementing Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo on innovation of organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation, each union member must change their thinking and level of awareness to meet professional requirements in the integration period.
In particular, in the context of unpredictable changes in the world's political situation, each party member, civil servant and public employee must clearly define their ideology to unite with the Department's leaders to build an organization, a "common home" of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, to successfully complete all tasks, focusing on solidarity and caring for the rights and interests of workers.
Emphasizing the important role of coordination with local unions, Mr. Duong Trung Thanh said that the grassroots unions under the Vietnam Geological Survey Union operate in all regions of the country, and participating in the joint activities of the Ministry's Union and the Bureau's Union is very difficult, so it is necessary to contact and coordinate with local unions to organize union members to participate in local activities.
The Chairman of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment also requested the Trade Union of the Vietnam Geological Survey to pay attention to innovating the operation methods of the trade union organization, paying attention to the rights, legitimate interests, aspirations of union members; participating in organizing movements such as cultural and artistic activities, thereby promoting the common activities of the Department to develop more and more.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Geological Survey acknowledged, commended and congratulated the achievements that the trade union organization and union members and workers in the Trade Union of the Department have achieved in the past time.
Agreeing with the direction, tasks and solutions for the 2023 - 2018 term, Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen requested the Department's trade union to continue to promote its role in propagating and raising political and ideological awareness for union members and workers to believe in and implement the Party's guidelines and policies and laws of the State. It is necessary to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers to build a harmonious relationship between the parties, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of workers.
Trade unions need to continue to strengthen Party building and rectification, innovate the organization and activities of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new situation and practical trade union activities, especially in innovating the content and methods of operation.
At the same time, further promote the position, role and responsibility of the trade union in performing well the representative function of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees participating in the management of agencies and units, especially in increasing income for employees, in arranging job positions as well as labor safety in the field implementation of basic investigation projects.
In addition, continue to innovate the content and form of organization as well as promote emulation movements in labor and production, launch cultural, sports and artistic movements in a practical and effective direction, with a focus and key points suitable to the requirements of integration and development...
At the Congress, with high consensus and trust, delegates attending the Congress elected 15 outstanding comrades to join the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Geological Survey Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term and elected 23 official delegates to represent the Trade Union of the Department to attend the Congress of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term.
