On July 13, more than 40 businesses participated in the Business Connection program and job fair for students of the Faculty of Heat and Refrigeration Technology, held at Cao Thang Technical College (District 1).
Students seek job opportunities at the fair
The program attracted more than 400 recent graduates and 800 students currently studying at the school.
Ms. Lu Thi Phuong Truc, Deputy Director of THAICO Trading and Service Company Limited, said that most businesses are lacking skilled engineers. For new graduates, the salary ranges from 7.5 million to 15 million VND.
"Currently, the company needs 10 technical staff, so students who apply will be hired immediately. Specific jobs include construction and installation of air conditioning systems, VRV, chillers; inspection and installation of civil air conditioners. The company does not require experience but must be hardworking, because these jobs often require long trips and outdoor work," said Ms. Truc.
According to Ms. Truc, not all graduates will be hired immediately by businesses. Businesses will also consider and prioritize recruiting students from prestigious technical training schools in the city.
"There are many cases where students only work for 1-2 days and then quit because they cannot handle the pressure, which also makes businesses quite sad. From that, it shows that businesses and schools need to coordinate to create training programs that are closest to reality" - Ms. Truc pointed out.

Mr. Ho Ngoc Vu, representative of Daikin Vietnam Training Department, said that Daikin Vietnam and the school have coordinated to train and test technicians and students according to Daikin's knowledge and skills standards, in order to provide human resources for Daikin Vietnam in particular and companies in the air conditioning industry in general. On average, this program trains about 200 qualified students each year.
As a rare female student of the Faculty of Heat and Refrigeration Technology, Truong Van Ha Phuong said that she completed the training program of Daikin Vietnam in parallel with her studies at the school. Having the additional certificate helps Phuong feel more confident when applying to prestigious businesses.

Dr. Le Quang Huy, Head of the Department of Heat and Refrigeration Technology, Cao Thang Technical College, said that the number of students trained each year is not enough to meet the human resource needs of businesses in the field of air conditioning.
"Job opportunities with high starting salaries; at the same time, this is also a potential industry, after a few years of accumulating experience at a business, students are completely capable of starting their own business with their own brand" - Dr. Huy pointed out.
