Experts say that to conquer employers, graduates need three factors: health, attitude and self-worth.
How to conquer employers? What skills to equip to grasp job opportunities after graduation?... These are questions that many students asked HR experts at the Thang Long University Job Fair held on March 28 in Hanoi.
The event attracted about 5,000 students. Notably, not only final year students participated, but the event also attracted a large number of second and third year students to participate, looking for internship opportunities, practical experience and part-time job opportunities in accordance with their major and training field.
After learning about nearly 30 recruiting companies at the job fair, Vu Thi Bich Duyen, a third-year student, said that job opportunities in the Marketing industry she is studying are very open, with over 70% having jobs right after graduation compared to other industries.
However, after discussing with the recruiting units about the requirements and working environment, Duyen said: "In addition to knowledge, I need to equip myself with some soft skills such as communication, presentation, teamwork skills... to serve my future work."
Participating in the job fair, Tran Doan Duy, a second-year student, was looking for a part-time job. Duy shared that the biggest weakness of students is that they do not have much work experience, and their knowledge and skills are limited. Therefore, they need to improve and learn through part-time jobs.
In response to the concerns of most students when looking for job opportunities, Mr. Nguyen Viet Lam - Deputy General Director of RKEedu Company Limited noted 3 secrets for graduates to conquer employers. The first is health, especially mental health. The second is attitude. Students must practice a professional and positive attitude to overcome the chaotic vortex of the market. Finally, self-worth.
“When you have self-worth, you can still firmly overcome AI or any other wave. So how can you have value? I think that in each profession and specialty, you need to draw for yourself the most necessary knowledge and skills so that you can become a person with value in both knowledge and skills,” Mr. Lam shared.
Thang Long University's Job Fair, held annually since 2019, has become a bridge between employers and the student community, providing career orientation for students from the first year and creating job and internship opportunities for students about to graduate.
Dr. Truong Nhat Hoa - Principal of the school said: "The school always focuses on the motto of closely combining theory and practice, helping students not only master professional knowledge but also have the opportunity to apply it in practice.
The series of career fair events is also a forum for students to listen to speakers share about job technology trends, thereby grasping the knowledge and skills needed to assert themselves in the challenging labor market.
Within the framework of the event, there were also a series of diverse and meaningful activities such as talk shows with experts in the training industry, helping students broaden their perspectives on careers and job market trends.
