The music event "Gong Night" with the theme "Central Highlands cultural inspiration from epic to modern" held at Thu Duc City Creative Park on the evening of March 30 attracted hundreds of spectators.
Notably, the grandly organized event was the research project of four female final year students majoring in multimedia management at FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City : Trao Nhat Hang, Luu Vuong Khanh Ha, Luong Nhat Thi and Cao Hoang Anh.
A large audience gathered at Thu Duc City Creative Park to watch the colorful music event organized by a group of students.
The program is built like a time-lapse film about the cultural space of gongs in the Central Highlands.
Trao Nhat Hang said: "We opened the performance by taking the audience back to the early days of gong culture, learning about the origin and meaning of the instruments. Part 2 led everyone to performances that were a combination and fusion of tradition and modernity. The final part was where all the artists and the audience joined together, creating an emotional and cohesive musical space" - Hang explained.
Not only Vietnamese audiences, this performance also attracts many foreign tourists to watch.
Through these artistic performances, the group hopes to spread a strong message about the preservation and maintenance of the national cultural heritage of the young generation, marking the 20th anniversary of the world heritage of the Central Highlands gong cultural space.
Western visitors enjoy watching gong culture performances right in the park.
Singer Y Kroc performs at the music night
After the performance, singer Y Kroc excitedly said: ""Gong Night" is an event that the students are very passionate about and spend a lot of time to make. I am very happy that the young people chose the gong culture of the Central Highlands as a research topic. In the future, I want the Central Highlands music to have successors and the young people will continue that tradition."
