Director of Trust Viet Company Limited (Thanh Hoa City), Mr. Vu Van Binh said: “According to the survey, up to 40% of our customer base is ready to travel from September to December. However, due to the impact of storms and floods, the KPI (performance evaluation index) in September could not be achieved. Therefore, travel businesses in particular and tourism service businesses in general have very little time to achieve the goals set for 2024”.
According to Mr. Vu Van Binh, for travel businesses, from now until the end of November is the acceleration period to the finish line. Because in December, agencies, units, and businesses focus on production, business and organizing summaries, so the number of tourists is very low. In addition, at this time, travel businesses also spend time building tours and signing contracts for 2025.
To promote business activities in the last months of the year, recently the Travel Association (Provincial Tourism Association), Thanh Hoa City Tourism Association has quickly organized famtrip programs, surveyed the quality of services at some key domestic and international tourist destinations. Thereby, it is aimed at specifically grasping the current status of the transportation system connecting tours and routes; at the same time, surveying and re-evaluating the quality and services of the suppliers to advise and build suitable schedules after the impact of storms and floods, meeting the needs of tourists.
Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa City Tourism Association Pham Tien Hai said: “Recently (from October 8 to 10), we organized a famtrip program to survey destinations and tourism service businesses in Lao Cai province, with the participation of more than 40 member businesses. This is one of the key tourism markets for Thanh Hoa travel businesses in the last months of the year. Through the survey program, we had specific discussions to strengthen the two-way connection between Thanh Hoa and Lao Cai, and at the same time, grasp the specific situation of traffic and services to rebuild a suitable tour itinerary.”
The Standing Vice President of the Thanh Hoa City Tourism Association also said that at the current "sprint" time, businesses have been focusing on exploiting the traditional tourist market. In addition, they focus on increasing service value and forming new and attractive value chains. Therefore, the Thanh Hoa City Tourism Association always closely follows the actual situation and tourism trends to orient correctly, helping member businesses proactively approach the market appropriately, bringing the best business results.
Difficulties in exploiting tourist sources have led to a limited number of visitors to Thanh Hoa. Therefore, a number of accommodation and restaurant businesses in the province have taken advantage of this time to focus on investing in technology, training human resources and improving facilities. In addition, a number of resorts in Sam Son City, Hoang Hoa, Nghi Son Town, Ba Thuoc... have proactively renewed existing products, reduced service prices to increase competitive advantages, and meet business goals. In particular, resorts in Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area (Ba Thuoc) are currently focusing on expanding the exploitation of the international tourist market during the peak season at the end of the year. In addition, tourism service businesses in the province are also actively cooperating with large enterprises and corporations to organize year-end gratitude tourism programs, MICE programs (tourism combined with conferences and seminars) for large groups...
According to Mr. Le Xuan Thao, Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association, in order to successfully complete the set goals, businesses need to innovate their approach to the market, build short-term resort tourism products, and improve service quality. The number of visitors is not large, but this should be considered an advantage for businesses to implement solutions to optimize service quality. At this time, in addition to promoting marketing on OTA (Online Travel Agent), tourism businesses should consider building proactive interactive channels and promoting connections to traditional customer markets. For tourism businesses in the province, it is necessary to activate tourism stimulus alliances, make efforts to renew existing products and increase year-end experiences at reasonable costs. Along with that, it is necessary to pay attention to developing night tourism products and tourism combined with health care to maximize the exploitation of available services.
