On July 25, at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong (Hanoi), at the same time at the Reunification Hall (Ho Chi Minh City) and his hometown in Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district (Hanoi), the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and his family solemnly held a State Funeral Ceremony for Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, according to the National Funeral rites.
In deep sorrow at the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong , delegations from many fraternal and friendly countries came to pay their respects and wrote heartfelt words about General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The high-level delegation of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith; the high-level delegation of China, led by member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the National Committee of the People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning; the high-level delegation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Senate of Cambodia Samdech Techo Hun Sen; the delegation of the Russian Federation, led by Vice President of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Tolstoy Petr Olegovich; and the delegation of the Republic of Cuba, led by Comrade Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba, paid their respects and expressed their deep condolences to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Sending his deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong and all the Vietnamese people, Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith wrote: "I am deeply saddened and deeply saddened by the passing of Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He left behind great achievements and a glorious career for the Party, State and people of our fraternal Vietnam.
We, the Lao Party, State and people, will always remember your great merits and valuable contributions to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. We have lost a beloved comrade, a great and close friend of the Lao Party, State and people.

Visiting and offering condolences to the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the army and people of Vietnam, General Chansamon Channhalath, Minister of National Defense of Laos, wrote: "The Ministry of National Defense and all officers and soldiers of the Ministry of National Defense would like to express their condolences on the passing of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong on July 19, 2024. Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong was an outstanding and steadfast revolutionary leader of the Party, State and people of our fraternal Vietnam. Throughout his life of revolutionary activities, he devoted his efforts and intelligence to the protection and development of the country in general, cultivating the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States, as well as the Lao-Vietnamese Army over the past time.
In this moment of sorrow, the Lao Ministry of National Defense would like to express its deepest condolences and sympathies to the Party, State, Army and people of Vietnam, as well as the family of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, and pray for his soul to soon rest in eternal peace. President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen wrote in the condolence book: "The leaders and members of the Cambodian People's Party would like to express their deepest condolences to the leaders and members of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the passing of Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The leaders of the Cambodian People's Party have lost a comrade, a far-sighted and broad-minded Vietnamese leader who strongly supported and continued to develop the good friendship and long-standing cooperation in all fields between Vietnam and Cambodia in the spirit of friendship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and our Cambodian People's Party. We would like to express our condolences to the General Secretary's family on this loss. May the General Secretary's soul rest in peace."

Writing in the condolence book, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Tolstoy Petr Olegovich shared: “We deeply mourn the passing of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, who devoted his whole life to serving the Fatherland of Vietnam. The Russian people will remember and highly appreciate the great contribution of the General Secretary in establishing and promoting the Russia-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the spirit of traditional friendship, trust and mutual support. We sincerely express our condolences to the family of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong and the people of Vietnam. We will forever cherish the memory of this great leader."
On behalf of the Cuban State and people, President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez wrote: “On behalf of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, General Raúl Castro Ruz, and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, we would like to express our deepest condolences on the passing of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a close and loyal friend of Cuba.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong’s extensive theoretical knowledge, experience and revolutionary practice are extremely valuable for the cause of building socialism in Vietnam and are a source of reference for the international communist movement. His studies on Marxist-Leninist theory, Ho Chi Minh thought and his contributions to the Doi Moi cause are of great significance and strategic nature.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong's contribution to the development of the results of solidarity and brotherhood between the two peoples, two parties and two governments is of decisive significance. His successful visits to Cuba are a testament to the excellent relationship between the two countries and the will to continue to consolidate and expand this relationship. On the afternoon of July 25, many ambassadors, representatives of countries and international organizations in Vietnam came to pay their respects, expressing their deep condolences at the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is not only a wise leader but also an excellent diplomat of international stature. Vietnam's foreign affairs achievements over the past decade have had great, important, and historically significant imprints of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
As an outstanding theorist, the General Secretary has made enormous contributions to the development of Vietnamese diplomatic theory. With profound contemplation of foreign policy over more than 70 years, the General Secretary is the one who has comprehensively systematized the foreign policy philosophy of our ancestors, the theory of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the foreign policy of the Party, concluding a very special and unique school of foreign affairs and diplomacy of the Ho Chi Minh era, imbued with the identity of the "Vietnamese bamboo tree," with a solid root, a strong trunk, flexible branches, imbued with the soul, character and spirit of the Vietnamese people.
This foreign policy ideology and philosophy has penetrated deeply into the consciousness and become the guiding principle for the activities of Vietnam's foreign affairs and diplomacy. The great contributions of the General Secretary have brought Vietnam's foreign affairs to a new height in all fields and activities.

The funeral of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong will be held at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi, starting from 07:00 to 22:00 on July 25, 2024 and from 07:00 to 13:00 on July 26, 2024.
The memorial service for comrade Nguyen Phu Trong will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 26, 2024 at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi.
Funeral at 3:00 p.m. the same day at Mai Dich Cemetery, Hanoi city.
