Thanh Lam said she was lucky to have been exposed to art since childhood and to have shown her talent early. She is grateful that her parents guided her to study the pipa.
The singer said that this was a valuable time that helped her form a unique musical style.
During this time, Thanh Lam and singer Thai Bao worked together in the group White Pigeon. "Back then, I never thought about money, just singing was enough to make me happy," the singer of "Chia tay hoang hon" said.
In response to the MC's question about her musical style sometimes receiving mixed opinions from the audience, Thanh Lam admitted: "It's not that I did it on purpose, but my physical condition was so intense. So musician Luu Ha An often reminds me gently."

Also in the program, Thanh Lam choked up when mentioning her father - musician Thuan Yen.
Remembering her late father, the female singer said it was her father who taught her to be diligent in music.
"Back then, my family was very poor. I saw my father sitting next to the guitar and singing at night. That was meaningful, reminding me to be steadfast in music," Thanh Lam confided.

Thanh Lam added when talking about her father: "In life, trust is the most precious thing. And my father believes in his daughter."
Talking about the song "Chia tay hoang hon" - a famous song by musician Thuan Yen, Thanh Lam revealed that the song was once successfully performed by Bao Yen. Later, when she grew up, musician Thuan Yen let his daughter perform it.
"When I started singing, my father said he wrote this song when I was in my mother's womb," Thanh Lam said.
This is not the first time Thanh Lam has been emotional when remembering her late father. Previously, in the program "Weekend Appointment", Thanh Lam said that she learned from her father to be strict with herself when doing art.
He did not work on inspiration, every night he sat at his desk, seriously composing, like a diligent scientist. The musician had never written a song specifically for his daughter.
Thanh Lam said she often changes some parts of her father's songs to suit her style and personality. However, for Thanh Lam, there is one work of his that is perfect in every note and rhyme, and cannot be changed at all, that is the song "My Sister".
In her eyes, the musician loved his children very much. When he passed away in 2014, the family found a notebook thicker than a hand span. In it, he kept every photo of his children, the first good child certificates, newspaper articles about Thanh Lam, and the plane ticket when she first went to Cuba to perform.
