Regarding the suspected food poisoning of some people with symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fever after eating Phuong bread (at 2B Phan Chau Trinh Street, Minh An Ward, Hoi An City), the Food Safety Department, Ministry of Health has just sent an official dispatch requesting the Department of Health of Quang Nam Province to handle the case and proactively take measures to ensure food safety and prevent food poisoning.
The Food Safety Department requested the Quang Nam Department of Health to direct functional units to continue emergency care and active treatment, ensuring the recovery of the patients' health. At the same time, temporarily suspend the operation of Phuong Bread, conduct an inspection of the facility's food safety conditions; trace the origin, take samples of suspected food to test for food safety indicators, investigate and determine the cause of the incident according to regulations. In case of detecting violations of food safety regulations, it must be strictly handled and the results must be made public on the mass media to promptly warn the community.

The Food Safety Department also requested the Quang Nam Department of Health to step up propaganda and education on measures to prevent food poisoning, food-borne diseases and regulations on ensuring food safety in food service and street food businesses; strengthen inspection and examination of food safety conditions for food service and street food businesses in the area.
Previously on September 12, according to Hoi An City Medical Center and a number of medical facilities in the area, more than 30 people showed signs of poisoning after eating Phuong bread were treated. Immediately after that, Hoi An City Medical Center established a food poisoning investigation team to obtain initial information, and at the same time investigate and handle the case.
