Kinhtedothi - Recently, Singapore's CNA news agency ranked Phu Quoc in the top 25 destinations to explore in 2025, alongside famous tourist paradises in the world.

In the list of “25 places to visit in 2025”, Singapore’s CNA news agency named Phu Quoc at number 7. The pearl island is the only destination in Vietnam to make the list, and is also one of the rare destinations in Asia, alongside Koh Samui (Thailand), Manila (Philippines) and Singapore. CNA calls 2025 the ideal time to enjoy every journey, cherish the slow pace of life and promote sustainable tourism.

The list includes new destinations to familiar destinations with many new things to discover such as Osaka (Japan), Cairo (Egypt), Greenland, Casablanca (Morroco)... To come up with this list, CNA consulted with experts, analyzed cultural and lifestyle trends as well as updated information on flights, hotels, trains and cruises at each destination.

“With its many small islands, 150km of coastline and vast national park, Phu Quoc is the epitome of a tropical gem,” CNA said. In particular, visitors from Singapore can take a direct 2-hour flight to Phu Quoc on Scoot, which will launch in December 2024. “Phu Quoc has a wide range of accommodation from budget to luxury 5-star hotels on the coast, making it a great choice for a vacation outside of Singapore,” said Jo Hendry Prior, co-founder of Alchemist Travel, a travel company specializing in luxury travel experiences.

In December 2024, the world's leading prestigious travel magazine Travel + Leisure also pointed out that a 3-day vacation in Phu Quoc has a total cost lower than a 3-day weekend in Singapore or Koh Samui (Thailand), only 1/3 to 1/4 compared to other famous destinations in the region. Reasonable cost is the reason why Phu Quoc is increasingly popular.

In addition to the wonderful natural experiences, Phu Quoc has recently attracted tourists with unique entertainment activities. One of the most popular experiences is taking the world's longest 3-wire cable car to Hon Thom Island, admiring the beautiful sea and islands of Phu Quoc from above, becoming an "astronaut" to experience walking under the ocean at Hon Thom... In particular, at Hoang Hon Town, two international-class shows combined with fireworks displays "Kiss of the Sea" and "Symphony of the Sea" bring unforgettable experiences to visitors after a long day of exploring the pristine nature of Phu Quoc. Vietnam's pearl island is also the only island in the world to perform two artistic fireworks displays in the same night. For tourists who love romance and uniqueness, watching the sunset at Cau Hon - the most unique "no-touch" bridge in the world, once praised by CNN - is an experience not to be missed.

The fact that Phu Quoc has continuously been in the good graces of leading international media continues to mark a positive signal for the strong boom of the pearl island's tourism industry this year. During the recent Lunar New Year, Phu Quoc welcomed up to 40 international flights per day, a three-fold increase over the same period last year. The number of international visitors to the pearl island during this time reached nearly 75,000, an increase of 44%. Therefore, Phu Quoc is one of the destinations that will contribute to making Vietnam a leading destination for international tourists in 2025. If the number of international visitors in 2024 is calculated, Vietnam will surpass Singapore (16.5 million), rising to third place in the ranking of countries welcoming the most international visitors in Southeast Asia in 2024.

Not only appearing in the list of the world's top 25 destinations, Phu Quoc also holds the 9th position in the top 10 most beautiful islands in Southeast Asia according to The Times (UK). Vietnam's pearl island stands shoulder to shoulder with famous tropical paradises in the region such as Koh Phra Thong of Thailand, Bali of Indonesia, Pulau Pangkor of Malaysia... "Nowhere in the world offers such rich diversity of culture, cuisine and stunning island landscapes as Southeast Asia", The Times commented.

Phu Quoc’s natural beauty is one of the top reasons why international tourists are fascinated by Phu Quoc. Especially in the south of the island, visitors must visit Bai Kem and Bai Sao - one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, famous for its emerald green water, creamy white sand and brilliant yellow sunlight.

This place is also the "paradise" of international-class hotel brands such as New World Phu Quoc, Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay... In particular, the leading British newspaper was fascinated by the splendor of JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort - "a masterpiece on Kem beach" designed by world-famous architect Bill Bensley, with an interesting theme about a fictional French university. The highlight of the hotel is the collection of 5,000 precious antiques meticulously searched by Bill Bensley from all over the world.
