Early admission benchmark score in 2024 of University of Medicine and Pharmacy (VNU)

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy - VNU has just announced the results of the 2024 university entrance exam according to early admission methods (in addition to the method of using high school graduation exam scores).

Accordingly, there are 5 methods that have just announced the admission results, including: priority admission; admission according to the specific mechanism of VNU; admission based on IELTS certificate or equivalent international English certificate; admission based on the results of VNU's competency assessment test; students of the university preparatory program.

In the priority admission method, 16 candidates were admitted. 82 candidates were admitted according to the special mechanism of Hanoi National University. Specifically, 14 candidates were recognized for winning Gold Medals in the International Science and Technology Exhibition Innovation Competition; 1 candidate participated in the High School Olympiad of Hanoi National University; 67 candidates won prizes in the High School Excellent Student Selection Competition at Hanoi National University or at the provincial and central city levels.

75 candidates were admitted based on IELTS certificate or equivalent international English certificate combined with high school graduation exam results. Of which, the highest standard score for the medical major was 27.1/30 points. The English certificates of the admitted candidates were from 8.0 IELTS points or higher.

336 candidates were admitted based on the results of the VNU's competency assessment exam. The Faculty of Medicine also had the highest standard score after converting to 30 points, which was 20.6. There were 2 candidates admitted to the university preparatory program.

The school notes that candidates who have received results from the above methods for admission to the school's majors still need to select their preferred order and register for admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's system at: http://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn before 5:00 p.m. on July 30.

* Competency assessment scores are calculated according to:

Total priority points: TĐƯT = Priority points for subjects (DT) + Priority points for regions (KV)

Competency Assessment Score: DDGNL

Conversion point: ĐQĐ = (ĐĐGNL*30)/150.

If the converted score: ĐQĐ is below 22.5, the considered score: ĐX = ĐQĐ + TĐƯT.

If the converted score is 22.5 or higher, the consideration score is: DX = ĐQĐ + [(30 – ĐQĐ)/7.5]* TDƯT.

* Principles for considering IELTS certificate scores or equivalent international English certificates:

- Candidates with IELTS score of 8.0 or higher: Considered from high to low IELTS score until the quota is filled. In case of exceeding the quota, candidates at the bottom of the list will be considered for the total score of 2 subjects in the admission combination (Math is required).

- If there are still quotas, continue to consider cases with IELTS scores below 8.0: Admission score is the sum of converted IELTS score plus the score of 2 subjects in the admission combination (Math is required) plus priority points according to regulations (if any). The school considers from high to low scores until the quota is full.
