After the traditional Tet holiday, people's demand for peach and kumquat care has increased. Therefore, many gardeners are busy collecting and caring for ornamental plants for people as well as starting the new season.
With a passion for playing with peach trees during Tet, Mr. Pham Van Hao in Khanh Hoi commune (Yen Khanh) bought a peach tree for more than 10 million VND to play Tet. After the full moon of the first lunar month, he went to a reputable garden in Khanh Thanh (Yen Khanh) to have it taken care of for 2 million VND. The following year, he brought this peach tree back to play Tet. Mr. Hao added: Although the land in his hometown is large, he himself does not know how to take care of it, does not know how to make the peach tree bloom in time for Tet, how to prune the canopy, and create a shape, so he had to send it to a garden to take care of. Therefore, choosing to send it to a garden to take care of until next Tet to bring home to play is the most effective solution.
As for Mr. Bui Hoang Tung in Yen Ninh town (Yen Khanh), he also had to contact the garden to send the peach tree for care after Tet. Mr. Tung said: Because this peach tree has a beautiful shape, I don't want to change it, and I don't have much experience in growing and caring for trees. I feel quite secure when sending it to the garden because the peach tree is properly nourished and blooms beautifully every year right on Tet. Therefore, for me, this service is very convenient and helps my family save a cost when every year we have to invest, search, and choose a satisfactory peach tree to play during the traditional Tet holidays.
In the peach growing area of Kim Dinh (Kim Son), in the early days of spring, people here are busy taking care of and pruning damaged and weak branches to replant peach trees after people celebrate Tet and send them back to the peach gardens to plant. At the same time, they are propagating and planting new crops.
As someone who has been involved in growing and caring for peach trees for nearly 20 years, Mr. Nguyen Van Chung, hamlet 9, Kim Dinh commune, said: In 1996, he started converting his family's mixed garden area to grow peach trees, but in 2012, after researching the market and with his passion, he switched to growing bonsai peach trees. He went all the way to the Northwest to find and select old peach trees that met the standards to graft pure peach buds, take care of them, and regularly prune them so that the trees branch out, sprout branches, and create a canopy frame. All of these steps require technique, experience, diligence, meticulousness, and patience. Currently, his family is the only household growing bonsai peach trees in the locality. This Tet season, his family supplied the market with 200 bonsai peach trees, of which 60 are for rent, the rest are sold directly. Currently, after Tet, customers start sending them to the garden to take care of them.
Mr. Chung added: Starting from the seventh day of Tet until the end of January, those of us who provide post-Tet bonsai care services are very busy. From the third day of Tet, we have been preparing the soil, digging holes, adding fertilizer... preparing the conditions to receive peach trees to replant and care for. Currently, there are more than 30 peach trees from customers in the garden. This time, I have to hire 6 more seasonal workers to plant peach trees and prune flowers. For households renting peach trees for Tet, we agree to send them before January 20 because if left for too long, the trees will become weak. This is the time when the peach trees have not yet withered, the newly planted peach trees will meet the spring rain and provide enough moisture, helping the trees grow quickly. This is an important time to create beautiful bonsai peach trees for the following year. Therefore, the steps in the process of planting and caring for peach trees at the beginning of the year are meticulously carried out by his family, from root treatment, pruning branches, soil treatment, providing moisture and preventing and eliminating some common diseases on the trees. The peach growing area must have enough light for the tree to grow well, the peach roots must be mounded 20 to 25cm high to avoid waterlogging.

In the peach growing area of Gia Lam commune (Nho Quan), the first days of spring are also bustling in the gardens. Peach trees that brought spring to every home before Tet are being collected for planting and care. According to garden owners, the peach trees displayed during Tet are quite weak and easily damaged, so replanting them early will help them recover faster.
Mr. Bui Van Ngu in village 4, Gia Lam commune said: After Tet until the end of January, his family has started to collect the peach trees they rented to replant, ensuring that the peach trees are still healthy and easy to care for. Preparations for planting new trees must be done early, especially the soil treatment stage, which must be done in advance. When bringing the peach trees back, they must plant the trees and prune the branches so that when the spring rains come, the trees can quickly grow again.
After Tet is the most suitable time for people in Gia Lam commune to start renovating their gardens for the new crop. Most households go to the fields to plant new trees as well as take care of the peach trees sent by customers. Currently, the whole commune has more than 10 hectares of peach trees with nearly 200 households participating. In the last Tet season, the income from peach trees brought in more than 10 billion VND. This is the motivation for people to continue to overcome difficulties and bring the Gia Lam peach brand to the market.
The new peach season has begun with the support of spring weather. The peach trees are entering a period of revival, carrying with them the people's wishes for a year of favorable weather, a bumper crop, with the desire to contribute to bringing spring to every home. So that every time Tet comes, spring comes, the peach branches bloom in every home.
