The first passengers arrived in Da Nang on a direct flight from Almaty (Kazakhstan)
Speaking at the welcoming program, Director of the Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that the opening of the Almaty (Kazakhstan) - Da Nang flight route marks an important milestone in connecting Da Nang tourism with the Kazakhstan market in particular and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in general, contributing to promoting the attraction of tourists from this new potential market to Da Nang.
According to Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, the Department of Tourism has proactively issued a Plan to develop and serve the international tourist market via flights from CIS countries, focusing on communication, promotion and market research; enhancing the promotion of Da Nang tourism to the CIS market; sharing information, orienting the market, and checking to ensure security and safety for tourists; preparing suitable tourism products and improving the quality of human resources serving tourists.
Passengers on the first direct flight from Almaty (Kazakhstan) to Da Nang were welcomed with a water-spraying ceremony, welcoming art performances, gifts of flowers and conical hats, and souvenir photo taking.
According to the plan, travel agencies will operate flights from Kazakhstan to Da Nang with a frequency of 4 flights per week from April to October 2025; of which, there will be 2 flights from Almaty to Da Nang per week on Tuesday and Friday; 2 flights from Astana to Da Nang per week on Wednesday and Saturday.

Also on the evening of April 2, Da Nang International Airport will welcome the first flight of Myanmar Airways International to Da Nang city, bringing nearly 120 passengers to visit and experience tourism services in the beautiful coastal city of Da Nang.
Flight number 8M-454 of Myanmar Airways International departed from Yangon (Myanmar). In particular, 3 lucky passengers on the flight received vouchers for round-trip air tickets from Yangon (Myanmar) to Da Nang.
Yangon – Da Nang route is operated by Myanmar Airways International with a frequency of 2 flights per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Embraer E190-6J92Y-1 aircraft.
The addition of a new route from Yangon (Myanmar) to Da Nang marks the milestone of 8/10 countries in the Southeast Asian region having direct flights to Da Nang, including Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar; at the same time, increasing the total number of international routes to Da Nang to 16 regular routes.
According to updated information from Da Nang International Airport, by April 2, 2025, there will be an average of 52 international flights arriving in Da Nang per day. With the orientation of diversifying the international market, Da Nang tourism industry expects to continue expanding the international flight network, connecting Da Nang with destinations around the world.
