Due to the impact of storm No. 3 and storm circulation, on the west side of the hillside in Nga Hai area, group 7, zone 5, Quang Hanh ward, Cam Pha city, there is a phenomenon, the risk of subsidence is very high and can affect National Highway 18.

On the evening of September 11, Quang Ninh province requested Cam Pha city and Quang Hanh ward to urgently evacuate 136 households from the dangerous area and relocate them to a safe place.

Quang Ninh provincial leaders came to the scene to inspect.

Through actual inspection in area 7, zone 5, Quang Hanh ward (hillside section near NEWSTAS Company), some cracks appeared, the largest subsidence was about 1m, around there were many cracks about 10-15 cm.

To conduct inspection and monitoring, the city invited Mining Geology Joint Stock Company to survey and explore. Preliminary assessment results showed that the above area had waterlogging in the soil, with a high risk of landslides over an area of ​​about 2 hectares.

People were evacuated to safety.

On the night of September 11, nearly 400 people in Quang Hanh ward (area 5 - 68 households, 200 people; area 6 - 38 households, 122 people and area 7A - 30 households, 78 people) were brought to safety. Authorities at all levels and relevant units created the best conditions for people in terms of facilities, means... during the evacuation process.

Authorities were present to help people evacuate.

Faced with that situation, to ensure the safety of people and property of the people, Cam Pha City has announced and requested households in groups 3, 4, 7, zone 5; groups 2, zone 6 and groups 1, zone 7A located below the hillside to urgently evacuate people and valuable property from locations at risk of unsafe landslides; at the same time, widely announce and mobilize people to evacuate to the houses of relatives and friends outside the above-mentioned areas.

Cam Pha City and Quang Hanh Ward also arranged safe locations for people to move to, ensuring the most essential conditions to serve people's daily life, organizing forces on duty 24/7 to protect houses and property, helping people stabilize their psychology; promptly respond when incidents occur, and at the same time notify schools for students whose houses are in the affected area to evacuate and take a day off on September 12; coordinate with functional forces to temporarily block National Highway 18 through the dangerous area.
