At the same time, this is an opportunity to create cooperative connections with units operating tourism services in Hanoi that wish to exploit the flow of Muslim tourists.

Sharing with The Gioi & Viet Nam Newspaper at the event, Mr. Tran Van Tan Cuong, Director of Vietnam National Halal Company, said that the Halal food market for Muslims in the world currently serves more than 2 billion people. Notably, the Southeast Asia - South Asia - South Pacific region is a potential export market for Halal products with a Muslim population of about 860 million people who use Halal food.

Not only that, many non-Muslims in major economies such as China, Japan, the US, the European Union (EU)... also increasingly prefer Halal products, because these items meet high standards of food safety and environmental hygiene.

According to Mr. Tran Van Tan Cuong, more and more supermarkets and hypermarkets are putting Halal products on their shelves to attract Muslims. The Southeast Asian Halal food market alone is worth 230 billion USD. However, Vietnam's Halal product exports are still very modest.

Besides cuisine, Muslim tourism is also recovering quickly after the pandemic. Statistics from travel agencies show that the number of Muslim tourists from Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia to Vietnam is increasing rapidly. Many major cities in Vietnam are attracting more and more Muslim tourists from Southeast Asia and many other regions such as the Middle East, Europe, and America.

However, Vietnam currently still lacks many facilities providing accommodation, Halal-standard cuisine, prayer and shopping places... to serve Muslim tourists.

In order to strongly attract Muslim tourists to Vietnam in the coming time, Mr. Hosen Yousof, General Director of Halatrip Vietnam Joint Stock Company, said that the management agency and tourism enterprises must join hands to synchronously build: A set of common standards for managing and exploiting Halal tourism services; build a synchronous and attractive service system; train Halal human resources according to international standards to serve international tourists from communication culture, service process, specific needs of Muslim guests...; develop communication to enhance the image and reputation of the Vietnamese Halal brand in the eyes of international Muslim friends; strengthen two-way trade and tourism promotion and exchange activities with Muslim countries; create many Halal-certified products to meet the shopping and consumption needs of Muslims...
