On June 27, more than 1 million candidates nationwide completed the first day of the 2024 high school graduation exam with two exams: literature (120 minutes) and math (90 minutes).
This year's math test is considered to be "equally" difficult compared to the 2018 test.
According to the report of the Ministry of Education and Training on the afternoon of June 27, the total number of candidates registered for the math exam was 1,050,224; the total number of candidates taking the exam was 1,046,156. There were 4,068 candidates who dropped out of the math exam.
In the second exam, 3 candidates violated exam regulations, of which 2 candidates were suspended and 1 candidate was disciplined with a reprimand.
According to many candidates and teachers, this year's math exam is difficult and there will not be a "rain" of 10s like in previous years.
With this test, the score range will mainly be around 7-7.5 points.
Specifically analyzing exam code 121, teacher Nguyen Cong Chinh, teacher at Tuyensinh247.com, commented that this year's exam has a much higher level of difficulty than in 2023, with differences and higher classification than the 2024 illustration exam.
"The exam has a similar structure to the 2023 exam, however, the types of questions from 40 onwards have many new and complex features. This year's exam meets both goals of graduation and can be used as a basis for university admission. In terms of difficulty level and classification, it can be seen that it is almost on par with the "historical" 2018 exam. To get a high score, you need to have flexible thinking and really solid knowledge, master many types of questions, practice a lot, and cannot review by rote or review in a biased way" - said teacher Nguyen Cong Chinh.
It is expected that the number of 10 points in math will be very small.
According to this teacher, students can solve the first 38 questions easily and quickly, but there are also "tricky" questions if students do not have a firm grasp of basic knowledge. Questions 39, 40, 41, 42, 44, 46 are at a fairly familiar level, the more difficult questions are later, from question 39 onwards there is a clear difference compared to the sample test.
Especially the VDC questions 43, 45, 47, 48, 49, 50 seem new and interesting, not often seen in the practice tests. Most of the questions are against the Casio calculator, it is difficult to guess by luck if you do not have good knowledge.
With this exam, the score range will mainly be around 7-7.5 points, equivalent to and possibly lower than in 2023. Average students will get around 6-7 points. Good students will get around 7-8 points. It is predicted that there will be quite a lot of scores around 7.5. Students must be really excellent to get 9-10 points, but it is expected that 10 points will not be many and not easy.
Sharing the same opinion, teachers of the math group and Hocmai education system also said that the exam closely followed the requirements of the goal of getting exam results to consider high school graduation, and at the same time, the differentiation of the exam lies in the last group of questions to serve the goal of university admission. The expected score range will fluctuate at 7 points, the number of 10 points will be very small.
