The clam is a natural aquatic species bestowed upon the homeland of Quang Phuc commune. The clam's living environment is clean, as it lives along the river, does not use animal feed, growth hormones and the environment is free of pesticides. Moreover, the clam has high nutritional value, providing a large amount of calcium, protein, lipids and vitamins, which have the effect of replenishing blood, healing tendons and bones, clearing blood vessels... The clam meat is mild and does not cause allergies to people who are sensitive to seafood. With a length of over 15 km of Yen River dike and 367.85 hectares of sedge land, every year the people of Quang Phuc commune exploit and catch over 700 tons of clams, which is a locally available source of raw materials, providing clean, fresh, and clear-origin raw materials, meeting the requirements of producing clam sauce.

From the above advantages, the Agricultural Production, Trading and Service Cooperative of Quang Phuc commune has developed the idea of producing Cay fish sauce associated with product consumption according to the linked chain. With the support of machinery, tools and production lines, improving product designs and packaging specifications, in 2023, Cay Grinding products were recognized as 3-star OCOP products according to Decision No. 2457/QD-UBND dated May 29, 2023 of the People's Committee of Quang Xuong district. Currently, the product is supplied to the national market, contributing to creating jobs for local people.
In the coming time, the product of Cay xay produced by the Agricultural Production, Trading and Service Cooperative of Quang Phuc commune is expanding its production scale, improving its design, packaging and product quality to reach consumers in more provinces and cities with the criteria of quality, naturalness, safety and convenience. This is also an important factor for Cay xay of Quang Phuc commune to become a typical and key OCOP product, creating a solid position in the market, continuing to develop sustainably and long-term.
OCOP product of fish sauce of Quang Xuong district
As of December 2024, Quang Xuong district has 27 OCOP products, including 3 4-star products and 24 3-star products of 21 entities. 20/26 communes and towns have OCOP products; 5 products have passed the group scoring round and are being completed to propose the District OCOP Council to score, classify and recognize. The products are being maintained and developed well, and have been put on e-commerce platforms, typically: herbal products Moc Viet Foot Soak, Cold Steaming Leaves (Quang Khe commune); sedge mats, fish sauce of Quang Phuc commune; Thao Hien yellow melon (Quang Hop commune); fish sauce, shrimp paste, dried Cu Nham (Quang Nham commune); Hoang Hau lingzhi mushroom (Quang Loc commune); Dung Chau sedge mats (Quang Truong commune); Dung Thap rice vermicelli (Quang Duc commune); Lam Phuong Longan cake (Quang Trach commune); Thien Bao bamboo tube snails (Tan Phong town); Mr. Tu's honey (Tien Trang commune) and some other products such as dried fish, ground crab, rice cake, longan cake, ham, sour sausage...
Up to now, the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) Program has created a widespread influence in Quang Xuong district. From there, it has exploited and promoted local potentials and advantages, created products of high economic value, with clear origin, ensuring food hygiene and safety, using environmentally friendly raw materials, competitive enough and meeting market demand. Thereby, it also contributes to creating jobs, increasing income, improving the material and spiritual life of the people and effectively implementing the criteria group “Economy and production organization form” in building advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas.

Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Xuong district, Le Dai Hiep, said: The results achieved in the past time are an important basis and also a driving force for communes, towns, enterprises, and subjects of OCOP products to build and consolidate their position in the market. In the coming time, the district will continue to implement key solutions for OCOP products to develop in a sustainable direction, focusing on planning and building safe, high-tech agricultural production areas, such as: safe vegetable production areas following VietGAP in net houses and greenhouses; large-scale high-quality rice production areas; food safety and hygiene livestock areas following biosafety; aquaculture areas; forming key products, OCOP products, creating brands for agricultural products of the district.

Along with that is the organization of consulting and supporting products of units participating in the OCOP program, such as: Trade promotion, improving product quality and packaging design, product traceability stamps, planning large-scale concentrated production areas linked to product value chains; promoting trade promotion activities, advertising for OCOP products; applying information technology, promoting digital transformation in management, production, introduction, promotion and trading of OCOP products... improving the value and quality of agricultural products from OCOP products.
