Provincial People's Committee holds regular press conference for the first quarter of 2025

CTTĐT - On the morning of April 3, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee held a regular press conference for the first quarter of 2025 to inform about the socio-economic development situation in the first quarter of 2025; directions and tasks for April and the second quarter of 2025; and provide information on contents and issues of interest to press agencies and reporters.

Comrade Dinh Van Dang, Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Spokesperson of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were leaders of departments, branches and sectors; representatives of leaders and reporters of central and local news agencies and press.

According to the press release of the first quarter of 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, the socio-economic situation in Lao Cai province in the first quarter was basically maintained and developed well: Agricultural production was deployed promptly, ensuring the time frame; the new rural construction program was positively responded to by the people. Industrial production continued to be maintained. Transportation activities met the needs of passengers and goods of the people. Trade and service business activities were vibrant; Total retail sales of goods and social service revenue increased by 7.1% over the same period; total number of tourists reached more than 3 million, up 50% over the same period.

Total state budget revenue in the province accumulated by the end of March 2025 is estimated at 3,254 billion VND, equal to 33.1% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government and 21% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Committee. Total local budget revenue accumulated by the end of March 2025 is estimated at 7,098 billion VND, equal to 38.1% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government and 31.5% of the estimate assigned by the province.

The cultural and information fields were well implemented; social security work was given attention; education work was promoted; health care ensured good medical examination and treatment for the people; security, social order and safety were ensured; foreign relations were maintained; government building and administrative reform achieved many good results.

Questions from reporters were answered frankly by Mr. Dinh Van Dang, Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the provincial departments and agencies, focusing on the issues that reporters from the press agencies were interested in. Accordingly, the leaders of the Department of Construction clarified the content of the implementation of key projects in Lao Cai province, and also informed about the acceleration of the implementation progress of the Sa Pa Airport project and the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong high-speed railway project.

Regarding the content of preserving relics and scenic spots, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: Currently, Lao Cai province has 22 national-level relics and 42 provincial-level relics. The province has issued documents directing the preservation of relics, in addition to focusing on restoring relics, strengthening management, control, inventory, and zoning for protection; strengthening propaganda about the value of relics, raising awareness of relic protection.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Department of Home Affairs also informed about the preparation for the construction of a two-level government model in Lao Cai and the projects, works and staff. Accordingly, implementing the conclusions of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the Department of Home Affairs has advised on the establishment of a Steering Committee and a working group to carry out the tasks. Currently, the Department is developing projects in accordance with the process to ensure the arrangement schedule. In addition, for project works, the arrangement of staff is also being evaluated in accordance with current regulations.

Regarding other issues and contents, relevant authorities have also clarified and responded to reporters.
